Original job description
The Partner Enablement Leader builds, from zero, the function that equips our partners to sell, deliver and support our products as well as our own teams do. Partners include resellers, channel and distribution, alliances, referral and implementation partners.
This is a leader-of-leaders role and a true 0-to-1 build. There is no existing playbook, team or operating model to inherit. You will define the strategy, hire the managers and enablers who execute it, and scale the function globally.
You will work across Sales, Partnerships, Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Legal and Finance, each with its own priorities. The role reports to the Director of Sales Enablement.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
Build the function from zero
- Define the partner enablement vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap, aligned to partner revenue and go-to-market goals.
- Segment partners by type, tier and maturity, and design differentiated enablement journeys for each.
- Build the core programs: onboarding, certification and accreditation, sales and technical training, co-selling playbooks, and ongoing readiness.
- Stand up the operating model, including intake and prioritization, governance, content standards, tooling and a partner learning platform.
- Recruit, onboard and develop a team of managers and enablement professionals across regions, many of whom will lead their own teams as the function grows.
- Set the structure, career paths, hiring bar and performance standards for a new team.
- Build a culture of ownership, rigor and fast iteration, and coach managers to lead and develop their own teams.
- Scale across geographies and languages, balancing global consistency with local relevance.
- Partner with the leaders of Sales, Channel and Alliances, Product, Marketing, Customer Success and Legal to align on priorities and resolve conflicts.
- Earn buy-in and secure funding and headcount in an environment where enablement for partners competes with other investments.
- Engage directly with strategic partners and their leadership to understand readiness gaps and shape programs.
- Communicate progress, results and trade-offs clearly to senior leaders.
- Use AI to personalize learning paths, generate and localize content, coach partner sellers, and answer partner questions at scale.
- Build AI-enabled workflows that raise team productivity, such as faster content creation, intelligent search and automated readiness tracking.
- Evaluate new AI tools with a clear view of value, risk, data privacy and adoption, and set standards for responsible use.
- Make your team fluent in AI, and model that fluency in how you work.
- Define metrics that link enablement to partner outcomes: time to first deal, certified-partner revenue, win rates, pipeline contribution, attach and retention.
- Run a regular business review with leadership, and adjust programs based on what the data shows.
In the first year, you will go from a blank page to a functioning, measured partner enablement program with a core team in place.
- Days 1 to 30: launch and hire. Ship the first onboarding and certification program for the highest-priority partner segment. Hire the first managers and key enablers. Establish baseline metrics.
- Days 30-180: scale and prove. Launch the program to over 200 partners. Select a tech stack, and generate revenue. At 6 months you will Extend programs to additional segments and regions. Introduce AI-enabled learning and coaching. Report the first business-impact results and set the plan for year two.
Required qualifications
- 12 or more years of experience in enablement, channel or partner programs, sales operations, or a related go-to-market function, with at least 5 years leading teams.
- Proven experience managing managers, including hiring, developing and holding them accountable for results.
- A record of building a new function, program or team from zero to one, including defining strategy, structure and operating rhythm without an existing playbook.
- Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders across functions without direct authority, and navigating competing priorities.
- Hands-on experience designing and running enablement at scale, such as onboarding, certification, training and readiness programs.
- Working knowledge of how partner and channel businesses operate, including partner tiers, incentives, co-selling and partner lifecycle.
- Practical experience using AI to improve how work gets done, and a clear point of view on where it creates value in enablement.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience tying enablement to business metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including with executives.
- Experience leading distributed, global teams.
- Experience launching a partner enablement or partner academy program in a technology, SaaS or financial services company.
- Experience building and operating a partner learning platform or partner portal.
- Experience building or deploying AI-powered tools for learning, coaching or knowledge management.
- Experience in a high-growth or turnaround environment where structure was built while the business was moving.
- Experience enabling both direct and indirect sales motions and working with strategic partners and system integrators.
- Familiarity with global markets, multiple languages and regional partner ecosystems.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree a plus.
