📢 Now Hiring: Senior Privacy Consultant
📍 Location: Toronto, Ontario (100% onsite – 5 days per week)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist to support Ontario Public Service initiatives by assessing privacy risks, ensuring legislative compliance, and protecting personal information across programs, policies, and technology platforms.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new and existing programs, systems, policies, and technology implementations.
- Identify privacy risks, evaluate existing controls, and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive PIA reports, management briefing notes, and privacy awareness and training materials.
- Interpret and apply applicable privacy legislation, regulations, policies, and standards.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, security professionals, legal experts, and other subject matter experts.
- Develop and deliver privacy-related training and provide guidance on PIA methodologies and best practices.
- Analyze information flows, business processes, and system designs to identify privacy implications.
🔹 Mandatory Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of privacy and information security concepts, legislation, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments within a public-sector environment.
- Practical knowledge of Ontario's FIPPA, MFIPPA, and PHIPA, including applicable regulations and related jurisprudence.
- Experience researching and applying privacy laws, regulatory requirements, and privacy-enhancing practices.
- Ability to independently lead PIAs or coordinate assessment activities across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent analytical, report-writing, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
🔹 Nice to Have
- Experience conducting PIAs for digital platforms, IT systems, or technology implementations.
- Previous Ontario Public Service (OPS) or broader public-sector experience.
- Familiarity with PIPEDA, OPS PIA methodologies, information management, and records retention requirements.
- Understanding of data flow diagrams, business process modelling, IT architecture, and information security.
