Associate Financial Advisor
IPC Wealth (Independent Advisory Team; The Fortune Team)
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Full-Time (In Office)
About Our Team
We believe great financial advice goes beyond managing investments.
Our practice focuses on advanced financial planning, personalized solutions, and helping individuals, families, and business owners make confident decisions about their financial future.
We're a small, capable, and committed team that takes tremendous pride in the work we do. We hold ourselves to a high standard, believe in doing things the right way, and strive to care for our clients the same way we would care for our own family.
We value strong relationships, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to helping people. Just as importantly, we're committed to maintaining a close-knit, supportive team where everyone contributes, works together, and takes pride in what we accomplish.
As our practice continues to grow, we're looking for the right person to grow with us.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a motivated, trustworthy, and highly coachable Associate Financial Advisor to become an important part of our team.
This individual will work closely alongside our lead advisors, supporting advanced financial planning, investment research, client relationships, and the delivery of exceptional financial advice.
We're looking for more than someone to simply complete assigned tasks. We want a meaningful contributor who takes initiative, is willing to roll up their sleeves, and takes genuine pride in delivering a remarkable client experience supported by thoughtful, comprehensive financial planning.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical and relationship-building aspects of wealth management and wants to develop their career without the immediate pressure of building their own client base. To be clear- you will not be responsible for bringing assets into the firm, your job is to work with the existing advisors within the existing client base.
You'll receive hands-on mentorship, work directly with clients, and gradually take on greater responsibilities as your skills develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of comprehensive financial and retirement plans.
- Conduct investment research, portfolio analysis, and financial planning investigations.
- Assist with client meeting preparation, attend meetings, and coordinate follow-up activities.
- Communicate directly with clients, helping ensure their questions and needs are handled promptly and professionally.
- Work collaboratively with our administrative team to ensure client-related activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate client records and assist with documentation and compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance the client experience, and contribute to the overall success of the practice.
- Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and ownership in day-to-day responsibilities.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is passionate about financial planning, enjoys helping people, and wants to be part of a team that takes its work seriously while genuinely enjoying working together.
The ideal candidate is:
- Trustworthy and dependable: Someone with strong integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to doing what's right.
- Coachable and eager to learn: Open to feedback, curious, and motivated to continuously improve.
- A genuine team player: Willing to pitch in, support colleagues, and contribute wherever needed.
- Proactive and resourceful: Someone who takes initiative, solves problems, and follows through.
- Detail-oriented: Takes pride in producing thorough, accurate, and high-quality work.
- Personable and professional: Enjoys building relationships and making clients feel comfortable, valued, and confident.
- Growth-minded: Ambitious about developing professionally and building a meaningful, long-term career.
Qualifications
- Ideally 2–3 years minimum of experience in financial services, financial planning, or wealth management.
- Licensed to deal in mutual funds in Canada.
- Life insurance & Accident and Sickness Insurance license considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of investment products and personal financial planning concepts.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Comfortable using financial planning software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
- A genuine interest in continued professional development.
What We Offer
- Annual base salary of $55,000- $67,000, plus a discretionary performance bonus.
- A comprehensive health and retirement benefits package.
- Direct mentorship and hands-on experience working alongside experienced financial advisors.
- Meaningful exposure to advanced financial planning, retirement strategies, investment management, estate planning, and client relationships.
- A small, supportive, and close-knit team environment.
- Opportunities for ongoing professional development and increasing responsibility.
- The potential to grow into a Financial Advisor position within our practice.
