About the Role
Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops is seeking a hands-on and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of our hotel and associated facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and well-presented environment for both guests and team members. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a dynamic, service-focused environment.
What You’ll Do
- Perform general maintenance and repairs across the hotel, restaurant, and related facilities
- Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues in a timely and professional manner
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks to support the ongoing condition of the property
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and completed tasks
- Support the upkeep of systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and basic IT equipment
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and company policies
- Assist with contractor coordination and oversee work as required
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in an organized and safe condition
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
- Experience using hand and power tools safely
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification is an asset
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Additional experience that would be considered an asset:
- Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment
- HVAC experience or certification
- 5+ years of maintenance experience
- Leadership or mentoring experience
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced environment with a mix of scheduled and on-demand maintenance work
- Primarily indoor work with occasional outdoor tasks
- Schedule may include evenings, weekends, or on-call support based on operational needs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform physically active, hands-on work throughout the shift
