What makes this role important at Ipsos?

As a Vice President, you will serve as a senior quantitative research leader and trusted advisor to clients. You will work with senior stakeholders to translate complex business challenges into clear learning agendas, testable hypotheses, and rigorous research methodologies that drive decision-making and business impact.

This role requires deep expertise in quantitative research design, advanced statistical techniques, and quantitative best practices. You must be comfortable thinking on your feet, providing methodological guidance in real time, and confidently defending analytical approaches with clients and colleagues. Beyond delivering insights, you will help shape the questions that matter, determine how they should be tested, and translate findings into strategic recommendations.

Our ideal candidate is an intellectually curious and commercially minded research leader who combines methodological excellence with strategic thinking, client advisory skills, and a passion for turning evidence into action.

This is a highly quantitative role. Candidates must possess significant hands-on experience designing, executing, and interpreting advanced quantitative research studies and analyses. Experience managing quantitative projects alone is not sufficient; successful candidates will have personally applied advanced analytical techniques and statistical methods throughout their careers. Individuals whose experience is primarily qualitative should not apply.

What you can expect to be doing:

Lead the design of complex research and advisory engagements that address critical client business challenges and contribute to business growth.
Translate client issues and strategic questions into learning agendas, testable hypotheses, and robust research methodologies.
Apply advanced analytical techniques and methodological best practices to ensure research is insightful, innovative, and fit for purpose.
Serve as a senior advisor to clients, helping them interpret findings, evaluate strategic options, and make informed decisions.
Lead the development of reports, presentations, workshops, and executive-level recommendations that move beyond reporting results to driving action.
Collaborate across Ipsos service lines to bring the full breadth of Ipsos expertise to clients and identify opportunities for integrated solutions.
Contribute to business development activities, including proposal development, thought leadership, and identifying opportunities for growth within existing and prospective client relationships.
Build Ipsos' reputation internally and externally through subject matter expertise, innovation, thought leadership, and market presence.
Coach and mentor researchers at all levels on research design, analytical thinking, storytelling, strategic consulting, and client management.

CLIENT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Acts as a senior trusted advisor to client leadership teams, providing strategic counsel on research, insight generation, and business decision-making.
Leads complex client conversations involving methodology, interpretation, business implications, and challenging or ambiguous situations.
Anticipates client needs and proactively recommends research and advisory solutions that address emerging opportunities and risks.
Builds and maintains senior-level relationships that contribute to long-term partnerships, business retention, and revenue growth.
Supports and coaches team members in managing client relationships and navigating difficult stakeholder situations.

STUDY LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees the design and execution of complex research programs from hypothesis development through final recommendations.
Guides methodological decisions and analytical approaches, ensuring technical rigor and alignment with client objectives.
Leverages advanced quantitative techniques, segmentation, modeling, forecasting, and other analytical approaches, as appropriate.
Synthesizes findings across multiple data sources to identify patterns, implications, and strategic opportunities.
Leads development and delivery of executive-level reporting and presentations that connect research findings to business outcomes.

EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages and develops researchers and team leaders, providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance development.
Builds team capabilities in research design, analytical methods, strategic thinking, consulting skills, and client advisory.
Creates an environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and methodological excellence.
Identifies and develops future leaders within the organization.

Serves as a strategic leader for client accounts and research engagements.

Influences strategic direction for clients, projects, and the broader business through evidence-based recommendations and thought leadership.

8-10+ years of experience in market research, insights, consulting, or a related field.
Deep expertise in quantitative research methodologies and advanced analytical techniques.
Proven ability to transform complex business questions into actionable research programs and testable hypotheses.
Strong understanding of research best practices and the ability to select, defend, and communicate methodological approaches.
Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet in high-stakes client situations.
Demonstrated success advising senior client stakeholders and leading complex engagements.
Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to connect data to strategic business decisions.
Experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
Strong commercial acumen and experience contributing to business development and account growth.
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree considered an asset.
Experience with advanced analytical platforms and statistical software such as SPSS, R, Python, or equivalent.

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $105,000 CAD to $115,000 CAD. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
