Original job description
Are you Ready to Build the Future of AI Infrastructure?
If you're energized by massive scale, deep technical complexity, and the opportunity to shape the next era of compute, this is your moment. Join a team where groundbreaking work meets competitive compensation, meaningful impact, and a chance to accelerate your career at the forefront of AI innovation. We want to meet you.
Why IREN?
IREN is a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider, delivering large-scale data centers and GPU clusters for AI training and inference. IREN's platform is underpinned by its expansive portfolio of grid-connected land and power in renewable-rich regions across North America, Europe and APAC.
With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way: responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.
This position is based on-site in Prince George, BC, supporting the construction expansion at our operating data center site. The site runs day and night shifts; this role is day-shift based with a rotational schedule to be confirmed with the successful candidate.
The Role
The QA/QC and Turnover Lead owns quality and turnover for the Prince George expansion at our operating data center. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you set up and run the site quality program across the electrical, mechanical, and network scopes: Inspection and Test Plans, hold and witness points, contractor QA/QC oversight, non-conformance management, and the system turnover packages that move each system from construction through commissioning to Operations. This is a live, brownfield site: nothing is energized, tied in, or handed over without the record to prove it is ready, and you are the person who holds that line with the Superintendents, the General Foremen, the contractors, and the commissioning team.
The IREN Package
At IREN, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support your health, well-being, and long-term success. Our Canada package for hourly paid positions includes:
Compensation
Health & Wellness
Financial Well-Being
Time Off & Flexibility
Growth & Development
Lifestyle & Culture

This is a live, brownfield site: nothing is energized, tied in, or handed over without the record to prove it is ready, and you are the person who holds that line with the Superintendents, the General Foremen, the contractors, and the commissioning team.
- Quality Program: Implement the IREN Quality Management System on site: Inspection and Test Plans per discipline, inspection checklists, hold and witness points, and the quality requirements written into contractor scopes.
- Field Verification: Perform and coordinate in-progress and final inspections against the Engineer of Record's drawings, specifications, and approved submittals; witness contractor and third-party testing (electrical, mechanical, pressure, and network certification); verify calibration and result acceptance.
- Contractor QA/QC Oversight: Act as IREN's day-to-day quality counterpart to the contractors' QA/QC staff; review their Quality Control Plans and records; run pre-installation meetings, first-work inspections, and mock-ups so the standard is set before production work starts.
- Non-Conformance: Initiate, document, and track NCRs and deficiency registers; verify root cause, corrective action, and retest before closure; coordinate Technical Safety BC inspections and Engineer of Record field reviews.
- Turnover & Completions: Define the system breakdown and turnover sequence with the Superintendents and commissioning; build and verify turnover packages (test reports, inspection records, as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties) and run the walk-downs and punch lists through to acceptance by Operations.
- Live-Site Interface: Coordinate inspection, testing, and energization readiness with site operations and the LOTO Coordinator so construction never compromises operating infrastructure.
- Documentation: Own the quality record with Document Control: inspection logs, ITP status, NCR registers, photo records, and turnover indices; verify work is executed only to current controlled revisions.
- Reporting: Provide weekly quality and turnover metrics (inspections completed, open hold points, NCR aging, systems turned over) to the Construction Manager and project leadership; support internal and external audits.
- 10+ years of industrial or mission-critical construction experience, including 3+ years leading QA/QC and turnover on a multi-discipline site (data centers, power generation, substations, oil and gas, mining, or heavy industrial).
- Hands-on experience building and running ITPs, hold-point regimes, NCR processes, and system turnover or completions programs through to handover.
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1), CSA Z462, ASME B31 piping codes, and applicable CSA, IEEE, and NETA standards, with the ability to read single-lines, P&IDs, and specifications.
- Experience directing contractor QA/QC departments and reviewing contractor quality records for acceptance.
- Experience with document control and completions platforms (Procore, Aconex, or similar) and strong Microsoft 365 skills.
- Clear, defensible written reporting and the authority to refuse work or records that do not meet the standard.
- Ability to work on-site in Prince George, BC on a rotational schedule, including coordination with night shift; live-site (brownfield) experience an asset.
- Red Seal trade certification or a recognized quality or inspection certification (ASQ CQI, NETA, CWB, or equivalent).
- Prior QA/QC or turnover leadership on a data center, including liquid-cooled infrastructure and its electrical and mechanical interfaces.
- Experience supporting energization, commissioning, and Integrated Systems Testing.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001-based quality systems and Technical Safety BC permitting and inspection.
- Planning or scheduling experience (the site also has an open Planner seat; a combined profile is welcome).
- Work with state-of-the-art AI hardware and some of the most advanced compute systems in the world
- Be part of a team that values innovation, autonomy, and continuous learning
- Make a measurable impact on the performance and reliability of global AI workloads
