Iris's Fortune 100 direct client is looking for a Python Data Engineer in Toronto, ON. Please find the job description below:

Job Title: Python Data Engineer Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid 4 days a week in office)Domain: Banking/FinancialDuration: Long-term contract

Python & Data Processing: Advanced proficiency in pandas and polars for data manipulation, transformation, and analysis. Experience optimizing code performance for large datasets.
Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker for building container images and composing multi-container applications. Knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment management.
Data Infrastructure: Working knowledge of ClickHouse or similar columnar databases for OLAP workloads and analytical queries.
Messaging & Streaming: Familiarity with NATS.io for building message-driven systems and asynchronous workflows.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Proficiency with pytest for writing unit tests, integration tests, and maintaining code coverage standards.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize Python data processing workflows using pandas and polars, including transformations and analysis of large datasets. Build and support containerized, orchestrated, and message-driven systems, and work with analytical databases and automated testing.

Requirements

The role requires advanced proficiency in pandas and polars, experience optimizing performance for large datasets, and hands-on Docker experience with knowledge of Kubernetes. Candidates should also have working knowledge of ClickHouse or similar columnar databases, familiarity with NATS.io, and proficiency in pytest.
