Original job description

🚀 This Isn't Just Another QA Role

Join 20+ industry veterans (300+ delivered projects) building the FPS that's rewriting gaming's rules. We're creating tournament-grade multiplayer systems where players truly own their achievements - and we need someone who breaks things beautifully.

Why This Role Hits Different 🎮

You'll be the guardian of quality for a revolutionary FPS that combines:

Hardcore competitive gameplay that demands perfection
True digital economies where every bug could impact real player value
Tournament-grade systems built by devs from gaming's biggest franchises
Gameplay-first philosophy with sustainable player-owned economies

This is your chance to shape something genuinely new in gaming - not just another battle royale clone.

💼 You Will:

Break & Perfect Core Systems:

Execute structured test plans across gameplay, UI, and multiplayer systems
Stress test networking and matchmaking under real-world tournament conditions
Identify, log, and track bugs with detailed, reproducible steps that engineers actually thank you for

Shape Competitive Excellence:

Validate weapon systems, ballistics, and hit registration at pro-player standards
Test complex inventory, loot spawning, and persistence systems that underpin player economies
Ensure AI behaviors and pathfinding meet competitive integrity requirements

Drive Quality Culture:

Collaborate directly with engineers, designers, and artists to validate fixes
Provide structured feedback that improves balance, usability, and player experience
Contribute to evolving QA processes for a live-service competitive title

🎯 We're Looking For:

Must-Haves:

2+ years professional QA experience in games (PC/console preferred)
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, bug tracking, and test case design
Experience testing multiplayer shooters or competitive titles
Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4/5 testing workflows
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Genuine passion for FPS games with an eye for balance and polish

Level-Up Skills:

Prior experience with tactical shooters or extraction gameplay
Knowledge of automated testing frameworks or scripting
Familiarity with performance profiling tools
Experience with JIRA or similar tracking systems

🚀 Why Ironbelly Studios?

The Team: Work alongside decorated veterans who've helped build Call of Duty, Halo, Bioshock, PUBG, and Batman. Our Montreal studio brings together talent that's shaped gaming history.

The Impact: This isn't maintaining existing systems - you're building multiplayer architecture from the ground up for a game that will define a new genre of player-owned competitive gaming.

The Culture: Trust-based, data-driven, and autonomous. We value continuous improvement and high-quality craftsmanship in a collaborative environment.

📍 Location

This is a hybrid / remote role based in Montreal, Quebec. We're building a centralized team in one of gaming's most vibrant cities. Local candidates or those willing to relocate will be prioritized
