Original job description
At Furnish by Isabey Interiors, thoughtful design is supported by careful coordination behind the scenes. Our team brings together interiors, furniture, and the details that make a space feel complete. In this role, you’ll work closely with our design and purchasing teams to help ensure every item is accounted for, handled with care, and ready for our clients.
Keep shipments moving and everyone informed. We’re looking for a Logistics Coordinator in Kelowna to track furniture shipments, coordinate freight information, and follow through on the details that keep deliveries on track.
You’ll be the link between purchasing, vendors, freight carriers, customs brokers, and delivery teams - monitoring progress, communicating delays, supporting damage claims, and helping keep brokerage documentation complete. This is a hands-on coordination role that combines shipment tracking and administrative follow-through with active warehouse responsibilities, furniture handling, inventory control, and occasional delivery support.
Location: Dilworth Dr, Kelowna, BC - in person
Pay: $23.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 9 AM–3 PM (24 hours per week). Additional hours may occasionally be available based on operational needs.
Benefits: On-site parking and paid time off
Your focus: Logistics Coordination
- Work with multiple designers and the purchasing team to coordinate project priorities, provide shipment updates, and prepare orders for each project’s delivery or pickup needs.
- Track inbound and outbound shipments, monitor delivery progress, follow up with vendors and freight carriers, and communicate delays or changes to the team.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for freight, primarily furniture, moving into and out of the warehouse.
- Assist with damage claims by documenting issues, gathering photographs and supporting records, submitting information, and following up on claim status; repackage furniture for returns.
- Assist with customs brokerage details by gathering shipment and order information, coordinating documentation with purchasing, vendors, carriers, and brokers, and following up on missing information or clearance updates.
- Coordinate order readiness and delivery handoffs, stage orders for loading, and keep the relevant teams informed of status.
Warehouse and delivery support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, including routine cleaning of floors and washroom facilities.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date storage-location records for all inventory and update them whenever items are moved.
- Locate, check, and prepare the correct items for delivery or pickup, ensuring orders are complete, clearly identified, and ready at the scheduled time.
- Record pickups and completed deliveries promptly in the inventory system, and obtain client signatures on the required paperwork to confirm receipt and document item condition.
- Inspect furniture when it arrives from delivery companies, and promptly document and report any damage or other issues.
- Use appropriate protective packaging to secure items and prepare them for delivery or pickup.
- Move and position furniture safely for inspections, storage, and delivery preparation; assemble items before delivery or when needed for inspection.
- Complete occasional small deliveries and transfers in the 1-tonne cube van, such as moving items between the warehouse and office or taking an additional item to a client delivery.
- Verify inventory and loading records to help prevent missed items.
- Occasionally support the delivery team with deliveries to clients, including careful handling, removing packaging, and checking that items arrive in good condition. Document and report any damage or issues promptly.
- Follow instructions, policies, and procedures, and work with the team to improve inventory, handoff, and documentation processes.
What you’ll bring
- Experience with freight and logistics.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Post-secondary education or training in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, or a related field is an asset. An equivalent combination of relevant work experience and training will also be considered.
- Ability to safely move and position furniture for inspections, storage, assembly, and delivery preparation, using appropriate equipment and team assistance.
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record for the role’s vehicle-use and insurance requirements.
- Confidence driving and maneuvering a 1-tonne cube van.
- Previous forklift certification or experience is an asset. Training may be provided, as appropriate, subject to workplace requirements.
- Tech savvy and comfortable using Google Sheets, Outlook, inventory software, and digital shipment-tracking tools.
- Eager to learn new systems, build logistics skills, and grow with the team.
- Punctual, detail-oriented, organized, and professional in customer-facing interactions.
- Ability to follow instructions, policies, and procedures while contributing to a team environment.
- Strong English communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with vendors, carriers, internal teams, and clients, and to accurately understand and complete shipment, inventory, and delivery documentation.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Physical requirements
This role may occasionally involve lifting, carrying, or moving items weighing up to 100 lb (45 kg), using appropriate material-handling equipment, team assistance, and established safe work procedures. Manual handling must be performed in accordance with applicable workplace safety requirements. Reasonable accommodation will be considered in accordance with the BC Human Rights Code.
