POSITION SUMMARY

The Team Lead serves as the technical point of reference in the field. They oversee the installation, integration, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning of electrical and communication systems aboard passenger trains. As a hands-on Team Lead, they supervise teams in Canada and the United States while actively participating in the work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and coordinate daily activities.
Assign resources and ensure schedules are met.
Install and connect electrical systems.
Read and interpret drawings, schematics and bills of materials.
Participate in testing and commissioning.
Supervise, support and train technicians.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
Represent the company with clients.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Proficiency with electrical wiring harnesses, industrial Ethernet networks, closed-circuit television (CCTV), passenger information systems (PIS), public address (PA) systems, Wi-Fi, access control and onboard diagnostics. Experience with continuity and insulation testing, as well as advanced schematic reading.

STANDARDS AND COMPLIANCE

Knowledge of applicable North American standards and requirements, including APTA, AREMA, FRA, FTA, NFPA 130, NFPA 70E, NEC, CSA C22.1 and OSHA, as well as project-specific contractual requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS), Diploma of College Studies (DCS) or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical field.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

At least eight years of experience in an industrial or rail environment.
At least three years of experience in a leadership or technical supervision role.
Demonstrated experience installing and integrating complex electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the rail rolling stock sector.
Commissioning experience.
Experience delivering projects for clients in the United States.
OSHA certification or equivalent qualification.

Expérience des essais de continuité et d’isolation ainsi que de la lecture avancée de schémas.

NORMES ET CONFORMITÉ

Connaissance des normes et exigences applicables en Amérique du Nord, notamment celles de l’APTA, de l’AREMA, de la FRA, de la FTA, de la NFPA 130, de la NFPA 70E, du NEC, de la CSA C22.1 et de l’OSHA, ainsi que des exigences contractuelles propres aux projets.

QUALIFICATIONS

Diplôme d’études professionnelles (DEP) ou diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) dans un domaine technique pertinent.
