About the job

Ivy is looking for a senior infrastructure and operations executive to lead the next stage of its growth. The VP, Operations and Deployment will be accountable for delivering Ivy’s capital program while building the systems, disciplines and vendor ecosystem required to operate a larger, more reliable charging network.

This is a broad operating leadership role. It combines capital program delivery, construction, network operations, asset performance, service-provider management, technology implementation, financial accountability and Board-level communication. The successful candidate will move Ivy from managing individual projects to managing repeatable programs at scale.

Reports to: President

Location: Greater Toronto Area; hybrid with regular travel to project sites and partner locations

Direct reports: Construction Manager; Operations Manager; operations and program delivery resources

Role scope: Capital delivery, network operations, asset performance, vendors, systems and operational excellence

What we offer

As a growing company in the EV charging sector, Ivy values the experience, judgement and contributions of each team member. The role includes:

  • Competitive executive compensation and benefits.
  • RRSP matching program.
  • Hybrid, GTA-based working model with regular presence at Ivy, Hydro One, partner and project locations.
  • Executive exposure to Ivy’s Board, parent company stakeholders and major customers.
  • The opportunity to help shape a growing Ontario infrastructure platform.

Key roles and responsibilities

Capital program and delivery

  • Inform and deliver against an approved annual capital budget safely, on time and on budget. Deployment and Delivery program includes charger replacements, site optimization, and large multisite developments with Ivy’s real-estate partners
  • Establish program governance across scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, risk, change control, procurement interfaces, commissioning and handover.
  • Implement the appropriate delivery model for each portfolio, including qualified-vendor, end-to-end program partner and hybrid approaches.
  • Create transparent reporting that gives management and the Board early visibility into delivery risk, forecast changes and corrective actions.
  • Build future capital plans and recommend delivery capacity, sequencing and resourcing requirements.

Network operations and asset performance

  • Own operational performance across uptime, visit success rate, charge success rate, mean time to resolution and site availability.
  • Develop a reliability and lifecycle-management strategy using root-cause analysis, warranty recovery, preventive maintenance, spares readiness and asset-performance data.
  • Establish incident, escalation and restoration processes that prioritize customer impact and minimize avoidable downtime.
  • Partner closely with the commercial and customer teams on service standards, major partner commitments and customer-impacting issues.

Service partners and operational systems

  • Build and manage a non-exclusive, multi-vendor O&M model with clear regional coverage, SLAs, scorecards, escalation paths and accountability.
  • Lead the implementation and adoption of Clockwork as the work-order, workflow and operating-insight platform.
  • Integrate internal teams, service providers, OEMs and other partners into consistent intake, dispatch, approval, parts, close-out and reporting workflows.
  • Use automation, analytics and AI-enabled workflows to reduce manual coordination, improve response times and generate actionable operating insights.

Financial and executive leadership

  • Manage the capital and operating budgets within approved authorities and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Improve cost discipline using measures such as cost per port installed, cost per kilowatt installed, O&M cost per charger and cost per dispatch.
  • Lead, coach and develop the construction and operations teams and clarify roles as the organization scales.
  • Present operating plans, performance, risks and recommendations to the President, Board and Hydro One stakeholders in a clear executive format.
  • Contribute to enterprise strategy, annual planning, organizational design and cross-functional decision-making.

Year-one outcomes

  • Deliver the approved 2027 capital program against planned schedule, budget, safety and quality commitments.
  • Maintain replacement-site capital efficiency against $/port, $/kW and other investment criteria guardrails
  • Improve uptime, visit success rate, charge success rate, and mean time to resolution against agreed targets.
  • Complete ticketing and workflow system implementation, and establish reliable workflow and management reporting.
  • Onboard at least one additional qualified service and maintenance provider and implement vendor scorecards and SLA governance.
  • Establish baseline and improvement plans for O&M cost per charger, cost per dispatch and delivery productivity.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction management or a related field; professional designation or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • EV charging experience is valuable but not required; the ability to scale an operating platform is essential.
  • Senior operating leadership experience (10+ years) in infrastructure, utilities, transportation, telecommunications, distributed energy, field services or another asset-intensive environment.
  • Demonstrated accountability for a significant annual capital program and operating budget.
  • Track record delivering multi-site programs through internal teams, EPC partners, contractors, OEMs and field-service providers.
  • Strong understanding of program controls, procurement, construction, commissioning, maintenance, asset management and operational performance.
  • Experience implementing workflow, work-order, asset-management or field-service technology and driving adoption across vendors and teams.
  • Excellent executive communication, financial judgement and Board-level presentation skills.

Application process

Thank you to all those who apply. However, only candidates considered for an interview will be contacted. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender perception or identity, national origin, age, marital status, protected veteran status, or disability status.
