Position Summary
As vCIO, you are accountable for technology strategy, roadmap development, executive advisory, business alignment, and governance for IX Solutions clients. This role turns client current state, business priorities, operational needs, risk considerations, and advisory inputs into practical long-term technology direction that helps clients make better technology decisions and prepare for what comes next.
You will develop client technology roadmaps, facilitate executive planning discussions, identify risks and opportunities before they become urgent, and create structure around priorities, ownership, governance, and investment decisions. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Solutions Engineers, Architects, Consultants, Project Managers, and IT Managers to connect strategic direction with operational realities, project opportunities, and client business outcomes.
The position reports to the Director, Client Services and works 40 hours per week, with typical business hours being 8:00am to 4:30pm or 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Balancing multiple client priorities with deadlines is a requirement, and after-hours availability may be required on occasion.
This role is intended for a trusted, business-aware technology advisor who can maintain senior stakeholder client relationships, convert complex input into clear direction, and help clients prioritize technology investments, modernization efforts, governance improvements, security needs, and operational dependencies over time.

Compensation
The vCIO position is a full time, salaried position. Compensation range is between $120,000 - $180,000 and is commensurate with the skills, experience and duties included in this position.
What You’ll Do Here
Client Relationship and Strategic Advisory
- Build, maintain, and strengthen senior stakeholder client relationships where IX Solutions has, or is developing, a deeper long-term partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor who connects business priorities with technology planning, governance, and risk decisions
- Earn credibility with client leadership through preparation, judgment, clear communication, and follow-through
- Support early strategic conversations with new or developing client relationships
- Help clients understand how current challenges should shape future technology decisions
- Maintain deep client context to effectively understand priorities, stakeholder dynamics, constraints, timing, and relationship history
Technology Strategy and Roadmap Development
- Develop technology roadmaps that give senior stakeholders a clear direction for planning and investment decisions
- Turn current-state assessments, advisory findings, Business Analysis outputs, operational issues, and client conversations into usable future-state plans
- Help clients prioritize investments, modernization efforts, lifecycle needs, risks, dependencies, and decision points
- Connect recommendations to the outcomes the client needs, including reliability, security, productivity, resilience, supportability, and financial stewardship
- Keep roadmap direction current as client priorities, business conditions, platforms, and risks change
- Establish a planning rhythm for roadmap review, priority updates, stakeholder alignment, and follow-up decisions
Executive Advisory and Governance
- Facilitate executive discussions on governance, modernization, security, productivity, enterprise applications, architecture, and business alignment
- Create structure around priorities, ownership, and planning cadence for client technology decisions in both one-time project and on-going advisory delivery scenarios
- Clarify accountability between client stakeholders and IX Solutions roles so advisory, delivery, and operational follow-through stay aligned
- Help clients evaluate options, trade-offs, timing, constraints, investment requirements, and decisions required
- Translate incomplete or competing stakeholder input into recommended direction and next steps
- Maintain a senior trusted-advisor presence through preparation, judgment, relationship continuity, and consistent follow-through
Risk, Opportunity, and Business Alignment
- Proactively identify and communicate technology risks and opportunities for clients before they become urgent
- Recognize patterns across client environments that point to recurring strategic, operational, security, lifecycle, adoption, or governance needs
- Shape advisory opportunities through planning conversations, workshops, assessments, and roadmap work
- Help clients understand the business impact of delaying, sequencing, or advancing technology decisions
- Support account planning by identifying future opportunities grounded in client direction, operating realities, and relationship context
Client Planning and Delivery Coordination
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solutions Engineers, Architects, Consultants, Project Managers, and IT Managers to connect roadmap direction with delivery and managed services
- Convert strategic priorities into planning inputs, recommended actions, ownership expectations, and client next steps
- Engage closely with Account Executives in client planning so roadmap direction, relationship context, opportunity development, and account strategy remain aligned
- Drive follow-through so advisory direction moves into decisions, project opportunities, managed-services activity, and delivery planning
- Maintain continuity between roadmap recommendations, operational follow-through, delivery work, and relationship context
- Support sensitive client conversations involving direction, investment decisions, risk, delivery trade-offs, or stakeholder alignment
- Work with IT Managers and delivery leaders so advisory direction reflects operational realities, recurring commitments, dependencies, and support models
Advisory Practice and Continuous Improvement
- Create roadmap materials, advisory notes, decision records, recommended actions, and planning artifacts that support client conversations and internal continuity
- Maintain client context across advisory, sales, project, technical, and managed-services teams
- Contribute to advisory templates, roadmap approaches, workshop structures, assessment models, and reusable planning materials
- Share recurring risks, planning gaps, service needs, and stakeholder feedback that can improve advisory and delivery capability
- Identify recurring client patterns and capability development needs that can strengthen IX Solutions offerings, technical practice areas, advisory practices, and managed-services capabilities
- Improve how IX Solutions turns assessments, roadmap conversations, managed services insight, and relationship knowledge into stronger advisory outcomes

Qualifications/Expertise
- 10+ years of relevant experience in technology advisory, IT leadership, strategic account management, consulting, managed services, business technology planning, or a related role
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate executive technology conversations and develop practical roadmaps aligned to business objectives
- Strong understanding of technology governance, modernization planning, security, productivity, enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud, lifecycle management, and operational service needs
- Experience converting assessments, discovery findings, business analysis inputs, operational issues, and stakeholder priorities into actionable planning direction
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive, business, technical, project, and managed-services stakeholders
- Strong analytical and advisory skills with the ability to identify options, risks, dependencies, trade-offs, timing considerations, and recommended actions
- Business-aware, relationship-oriented, organized, and comfortable balancing strategic direction with practical delivery and operational realities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and common collaboration, documentation, presentation, project, and roadmap-planning tools
