Company Profile

IX Solutions is Western Canada’s go-to boutique IT firm, sought after by leading tech talent and forward thinking organizations for their innovative approach, trusted team, award-winning service and standout company culture.
We act as a trusted advisor to forward-thinking organizations and their IT teams, empowering them to fulfill their potential through innovative solutions and technology that solves business problems. We help our clients effectively leverage modern technology and embrace digital transformation to achieve their critical business outcomes.

Ultimately, we’re here to inspire innovation - for our customers and our people. For us, that means inviting ambitious individuals to the table - those who are primed to push the envelope - and fostering an imaginative environment for them to thrive. Why? Because we believe when you bring visionaries together with a genuine drive to do better and give them transformative technology as the toolkit, the possibilities and potential for your business become boundless.

For us, success is measured in the lasting relationships we build with our clients. We go the extra mile to deliver a positive customer experience and trusted solutions that are flexible to meet their needs. Founded in 2018, our company supports clients across Western Canada from remote offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and the BC Interior.

Position Summary

As vCIO, you are accountable for technology strategy, roadmap development, executive advisory, business alignment, and governance for IX Solutions clients. This role turns client current state, business priorities, operational needs, risk considerations, and advisory inputs into practical long-term technology direction that helps clients make better technology decisions and prepare for what comes next.

You will develop client technology roadmaps, facilitate executive planning discussions, identify risks and opportunities before they become urgent, and create structure around priorities, ownership, governance, and investment decisions. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Solutions Engineers, Architects, Consultants, Project Managers, and IT Managers to connect strategic direction with operational realities, project opportunities, and client business outcomes.

The position reports to the Director, Client Services and works 40 hours per week, with typical business hours being 8:00am to 4:30pm or 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Balancing multiple client priorities with deadlines is a requirement, and after-hours availability may be required on occasion.

This role is intended for a trusted, business-aware technology advisor who can maintain senior stakeholder client relationships, convert complex input into clear direction, and help clients prioritize technology investments, modernization efforts, governance improvements, security needs, and operational dependencies over time.

IX Solutions is committed to helping all employees grow and develop within the organization, and the responsibilities below may be adjusted periodically to align with employee goals or aptitudes while supporting overall business objectives.

Compensation

The vCIO position is a full time, salaried position. Compensation range is between $120,000 - $180,000 and is commensurate with the skills, experience and duties included in this position.
