Original job description

Reporting to the Senior Credit Manger, the Credit Analyst is accountable for the consistent application of a credit policy in part related to credit reviews, periodic credit reviews of customer credit lines, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers. This position is responsible for supporting the management and execution of credit file review processes.

Responsibilities

Identify legal entities, review, and analyze credit files, and make credit recommendations on overall creditworthiness of a given customer/group of customers

Utilize all the available information provided by customers, credit bureaus, and bank records.
Arrive at a consistent credit rating of buyers by performing a financial and credit analysis.
Make recommendations to the VP of Corporate Credit and relevant stakeholders.
Review legal documentation and ensure proper follow up of credit decisions.
Monitor high risk customers/group of customers.

Determine lending conditions of a given customer/group of customers

Make recommendation of credit limit based on customer's financial results, credit agencies, and other relevant lending information

Communication with Trade Credit Insurance Providers

Together with Vice President Corporate Credit and Credit Mangers liaise with Trade Credit Insurance Providers to assure timely updates of credit insurance coverage of accounts.
Properly file and make available for qualified team members all incoming and outgoing e-mails, files, and other messages to maintain control and transparency of such communications.

Assist with credit file review processes and support credit files reviews workload

Identify areas of improvements in existing credit process/separate tasks.
Prepare and substantiate changes to such processes.

Maintain current knowledge of target industries, customers, and customer portfolios

Participate in seminars, conference calls, case studies offered by business credit reporting agencies.
Read communications, news updates, news digests, customer updates, credit report updates, bankruptcy and insolvency bulletins, industry reviews etc.

Qualifications

Business degree or college certificate
2-3 years’ experience as a credit analyst or similar role
Experience in Domestic Credit, and possess a strong acumen in reading and analyzing financial statements
Ability to work in a time sensitive environment and transition easily between tasks
Effectively communicate across all levels within the organization
Experience with customer communications and negotiations
Understand and maintain the requirement of strict confidentiality
Good analytical background. Full working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
