Role: Data Engineer
Location: Mississauga Canada
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with 9+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise data solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in data engineering, metadata management, data lineage, reference data, database development, and programming using technologies such as Oracle SQL/PLSQL, Python, or Java.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise data engineering solutions.
- Work on data lineage, metadata management, and reference data solutions.
- Develop and optimize database objects, queries, and stored procedures using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
- Build data processing and integration solutions using Python or Java.
- Develop and integrate APIs to support data exchange across enterprise applications.
- Support ETL processes, data warehousing, and data transformation activities.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and cross-functional engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in all phases of the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Required Skills
- 9+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data integration.
- Hands-on experience with metadata management, data lineage, or reference data solutions.
- Strong experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
- Proficiency in Python or Java programming.
- Experience developing and integrating APIs.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data processing.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with enterprise metadata management and data governance.
- Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, and data quality.
- Experience working with SDKs, frameworks, and enterprise application integrations.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering technologies.
