Original job description
Your impact
Jacobs is seeking a Digital Task and Project Support Lead to support our internal and client‑facing digital delivery teams with the implementation of digital services across sectors, with a particular emphasis on environment. The role blends task management, client and internal project team engagement, and hands‑on digital solution deployment to help modernize operations, improve decision‑making, and realize measurable efficiency gains.
The ideal candidate is a trusted partner who can work with digital project managers and delivery leads to translate business and operational challenges into actionable digital delivery plans, with a focus on collaborating across operations teams. This role plays a critical part in helping to ensure project delivery needs and client expectations are met, keeping projects within scope and budget, while also positioning Jacobs for both short and long-term success through the delivery of high‑value, high-quality digital programs.
Location Hybrid, 2 days per week, in Toronto or Calgary
Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Act as a digital task manager on environmentally focused projects, supporting digital project managers to ensure scope, schedule, and quality expectations are met. Manage risk and stakeholder expectations.
- Coordinate solution and business requirement conversations between clients, multidisciplinary project disciplines, and digital delivery teams. Translate those conversations into actionable outcomes
- Practice, promote, and enforce compliance with organizational digital governance, security, and data management standards.
- Use AI-platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to improve research, analysis, documentation, communication, and solution development. Validate outputs using informed professional judgment and proven usage experience.
- Support and advance adoption of digital tools and platforms to internal project teams and clients, including Jacobs developed solutions (e.g., analytics, optimization, automation, and decision support tools)
- Partner with digital and non-digital technical teams to demonstrate digital solutions capabilities and develop a plan for initial and long-term project adoption
- Identify opportunities through internal networking where digital tools can create measurable efficiency gains, cost savings, or performance improvement, document those opportunities as use cases or proofs to help support new business growth.
- Identify follow-on growth opportunities within existing client relationships and established solution deliverables, but also within emerging technologies, such as generative AI and agentic development.
- Track, synthesize, and report on solution adoption and usage metrics across projects to help support hitting market-specific growth targets.
- Support proposal writing and other business development related work as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Geographic Information System (GIS), computer science, business, or a related field
- 2-4 years of professional experience delivering digital solutions or enterprise system implementation within environment, utilities, or adjacent industries
- Demonstrated ability to lead client engagement conversations and support digital project managers with managing project responsibilities in a collaborative and team-focused environment.
- Experience building and managing data visualization solutions (ex PowerBI, Tableau, etc) to help communicate project-level progress, metric tracking, and support the delivery of bespoke project-level solutions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both client, project leadership, and technical teams
- Experience leading requirements gathering conversations and translating complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions
- Demonstrated success delivering measurable outcomes (e.g., efficiency gains, cost savings, improved service delivery)
- Experience working in or leading Agile-based sprints or scrums
- Experience supporting proposal development
- Project management or related training or certifications
- An understanding of scoping web solution design and UX-focused deliverables. Direct experience with building and delivering web-based solutions is a plus.
