We're looking for an
Intermediate Electrical Engineer (Water/Wastewater) to join our growing Canadian Electrical & Instrumentation team in
Burnaby. In this role, you'll be involved in the design and delivery of critical infrastructure projects across Canada, working alongside experienced technical specialists and project teams. You'll contribute to projects from concept development through detailed design and construction support, while continuing to expand your technical expertise and professional growth.
What You'll Do
- As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you will
- Design electrical systems for water, wastewater, industrial, transportation, and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications, reports, studies, and technical calculations.
- Support the design of medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems, motor control centers, standby power systems, grounding systems, lighting, and associated infrastructure.
- Participate in equipment selection, power system studies, and technical evaluations.
- Coordinate electrical designs with process, mechanical, structural, civil, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Assist with construction support activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to contractor inquiries, and supporting commissioning activities.
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and technical delivery.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute innovative solutions to technical challenges.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers while continuing to develop your own technical and leadership skills.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration within Canada.
- 4-8 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in consulting, industrial, utility, municipal, or infrastructure environments.
- Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Experience designing electrical systems for industrial, municipal, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA standards, IEEE standards, and other applicable industry codes.
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems and electrical design principles.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow professionally.
Ideally you'll also have
- Experience with industrial process facilities or municipal infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of electrical modelling and analysis software such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower.
- Experience performing short-circuit, coordination, load flow, and arc flash studies.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard design tools.
- Experience supporting construction and commissioning activities.
- LEED, Envision, or other sustainability-related credentials.

Posted Salary Range Upper
130,000.00
The base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $130,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
