What You’ll Do

As a key member of the Quality Assurance Team, you’ll help shape health and wellness outcomes for people around the world.

In this role, you will:

We are seeking a high-performing, fully onsite Maintenance Manager with 5+ years of leadership experience to direct maintenance across our JWEL Windsor manufacturing and warehouse operations. Based out of Jamieson’s Windsor facility, you will own the long-term reliability strategy, manage the departmental budget, and drive maintenance excellence. You will directly lead a Maintenance Supervisor and a Maintenance Planner, while providing strategic leadership to a team of skilled trades technicians and apprentice/s. In this role, you will champion proactive maintenance programs, optimize equipment uptime, and lead your team in maintaining advanced factory automation (PLCs, SCADA, FANUC Robotics) and plant utilities to ensure GMP compliance and maximize multi-site manufacturing efficiency.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

Compliance & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to Health Canada, GMP, and health and safety regulations across all maintenance activities, ensuring cleanrooms and production areas remain compliant.
Departmental Leadership: Directly manage, coach, and develop the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Planner while overseeing the productivity and safety of skilled trades technicians and apprentice/s.
Asset Reliability Strategy: Drive plant reliability by establishing proactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to minimize unexpected machine downtime.
Comprehensive Facility Management: Direct the structural upkeep, general building repair, and ground maintenance of the entire facility infrastructure, ensuring a clean, secure, and professional working environment.
Budget & Cost Management: Own and manage the maintenance department budget, controlling costs for tools, contracted services, building upgrades, and critical spare parts inventory.
Financial Management (OPEX & CAPEX): Own the maintenance Operational Expenditure (OPEX) budget by controlling daily costs for tools, spare parts inventory, and internal labor. Develop and justify Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) business cases for the replacement, upgrading, or expansion of aging machinery and facility assets.
Systems Maintenance: Oversee the troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of complex industrial automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and FANUC robotics.
Utilities Upkeep: Ensure continuous operation and regulatory compliance of critical plant utility systems - including HVAC, air compressors, chilled water systems, and dust collection units - in alignment with TSSA standards.
CMMS Management: Direct the proper utilization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to accurately track work orders, labor hours, and equipment history.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Coordinate and oversee external contractors, technical specialists, and service vendors during major structural repairs or specialized equipment servicing.
Technical Drawings: Create, update, and interpret detailed mechanical, electrical, architectural, and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) drawings using CAD software.
Process Optimization: Apply Lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and maximize throughput in a regulated environment.
Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM): Implement strategic LCAM models to optimize the total cost of ownership, performance, and life expectancy of all production machinery from acquisition through decommissioning.
Compliance & Validation: Ensure all systems and equipment meet Health Canada, GMP, and health/safety standards. Assist with IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols.

What You Bring

You bring curiosity, collaboration, and a desire to do meaningful work. You may bring experience in:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a college degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management is a strong asset.
Licensure: A professional trades license (e.g., Millwright, Industrial Electrician) or a Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) designation is considered an asset.
Experience: 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with a proven track record of at least 5 years leadership in managing supervisors, planners, and/or leaders. Experience within a GMP manufacturing environment (Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, or Food/Beverage) is advantageous.
Regulatory & Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of GMP regulations, cleanroom maintenance standards, sanitary equipment design, and OHSA/TSSA safety guidelines.
Leadership & Team Building: Demonstrated success in delegating tasks, building a strong safety culture, and managing a medium-sized department of leadership staff and skilled trades.
Technical System Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical components, electrical schematics, plumbing, and complex multi-disciplinary industrial machinery.
Financial Management: Proven ability to manage maintenance operational budgets (OpEx) and evaluate equipment data to justify capital expenditure (CapEx) replacements.
Automation Expertise: Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley/Siemens PLCs, SCADA platforms, Visual Components, IoT devices, and FANUC robot knowledge.
Project Management Depth: Strong ability to manage multi-million-dollar CapEx budgets, building permits, and timelines while coordinating with general contractors, structural engineers, ESA/QPS/PSRs, and equipment vendors.

For this role, the posting range is $80,550 - $120,850 which reflects the full salary range of the position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, level of education, role scope, and other professional qualifications aligned with the requirements and complexity of this position.
