We are looking for an experienced and people and business focused Human Resources Manager to lead our day-to-day HR function and support leaders across Jayman BUILT and the broader Jayman group of companies.
Reporting to the [Executive Leaders/CFO], the HR Manager will act as a trusted advisor while balancing employee relations, operational HR responsibilities and opportunities to strengthen our people practices

A Day in the Life
- Partner with the leaders to provide practical HR guidance and support on employee relations, performance, engagement, organizational changes and people-related decisions.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee development, compensation, benefits and offboarding.
- Support leaders through employee performance or behavioural concerns, including coaching, documentation, progressive discipline and termination processes.
- Lead recruitment for key positions and support managers throughout the hiring process, including job postings, interviews, offers and background checks.
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies, programs and practices that support the needs of the business and our team.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs, including annual reviews, market benchmarking and benefit renewals.
- Ensure HR practices remain compliant with applicable Alberta employment legislation and internal policies.
- Identify employee relations risks, lead or support workplace investigations and make recommendations to leadership as required.
- Travel to Edmonton and remote sites with Calgary required.
- Use HR metrics and reporting to identify trends and provide leaders with meaningful information to support workforce planning and decision-making.
- Support succession planning, talent development and employee retention initiatives across the organization.
- Maintain accurate HR systems, employee records and documentation while identifying opportunities to improve and streamline HR processes.
- Provide leadership, coaching and support to members of the HR/Payroll team and work collaboratively across departments.
- Continuously look for opportunities to enhance the employee experience while maintaining the practical, responsive, and entrepreneurial culture that makes Jayman unique.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) certification.
- 5–8 years of Human Resources experience, ideally within a broad Generalist or HR Business Partner environment.
- Experience providing HR guidance and coaching to managers and senior leaders.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience with employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, and benefits.
- Experience managing sensitive employee matters and workplace investigations.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or developing HR team members is preferred.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
- Strong judgement, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to navigate difficult conversations.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution.
- A collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle, with a clean driving record.
