Account Manager - National Programs

JD Sign Group | Cambridge, Ontario | Full-time, in office
$90,000–$105,000 base salary + up to $15,000 annual performance bonus

Walk past a storefront anywhere in Canada, and you could be looking at a project you helped bring to life.

JD Sign Group designs, manufactures and installs signage for established national retail and restaurant brands. From new locations to renovations and ongoing rollouts, we help customers turn their brand into a physical presence across the country.

We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager who wants meaningful customer relationships, ownership of their accounts and a direct connection to the people delivering the work.

Here’s what you’ll step into

A focused portfolio of up to six established and developing accounts, representing approximately $2 million in annual business. Relationships to build on, customers to get to know and opportunities to earn a larger share of their business.

You might be reviewing requirements for a new store in the morning, working through a renovation quote with Estimating and meeting a customer to plan their next group of locations in the afternoon.

Approximately 80% of your focus will be managing and growing assigned accounts, with 20% dedicated to developing suitable new customers.

You’ll report directly to our president. When an opportunity needs a decision, you’ll have access to the person who can make it. When a customer needs a solution, you’ll work alongside the teams estimating, designing and manufacturing it.

Build relationships that lead to the next project

You’ll understand your customers’ plans, earn their trust and help shape how JD supports their next location, renovation or national program.

You will:

Build relationships with customer decision-makers and stay ahead of upcoming projects.
Identify opportunities to expand programs and grow JD’s share of each account.
Guide opportunities through scope confirmation, estimating, proposals, follow-up and award.
Lead commercial conversations about pricing, scope and customer commitments.
Prepare complete project handoffs covering requirements, pricing, timing and risks.
Pursue selected new customers that fit JD’s capabilities.
Maintain clear account plans, reliable forecasts and current CRM information.
Escalate unusual pricing, contractual, operational or financial risks to leadership.

Own the relationship. Have a team behind you.

You own the customer relationship and commercial process. Following handoff, Project Delivery owns day-to-day execution. You stay involved where customer expectations, scope changes or commercial decisions require your attention.

Estimating, Design, Production and Installation bring the specialist expertise needed to deliver. Working from our Cambridge office puts you close to those teams and the work itself.

Bring your account-management experience. We’ll teach you our business.

You’ve managed complex B2B relationships independently. You know how to earn a customer’s confidence, follow an opportunity through to a decision and keep commitments clear when several projects are moving at once.

You can explain which accounts you’ve retained or grown, what you personally contributed and the results.

We’re looking for:

Typically five or more years of relevant account-management or sales experience, supported by demonstrated results.
Experience in signage, architectural products, building materials, custom manufacturing, printing, fixtures, displays or a related project-based industry.
Confidence working with customer decision-makers and internal technical and operational teams.
Sound commercial judgment, attention to detail and dependable follow-through.
The ability to understand detailed project requirements, drawings and specifications, or the aptitude to learn.
Experience coordinating clear proposals and thorough project handoffs.
Experience using CRM and project-management systems.
Ability to work from our Cambridge office five days a week.

Signage experience is welcome, but not essential. We provide product and process training for someone bringing relevant industry experience and established account-management skills.

Requirements

Clear expectations and room to develop

Success means retaining customer relationships, growing profitable business, following opportunities through to decisions and helping internal teams deliver through accurate information and complete handoffs.

Performance targets are established for your assigned portfolio, reviewed quarterly and assessed for annual bonus payment following year-end.

As you demonstrate results, development discussions with the president will focus on readiness for Senior Account Manager or future sales-leadership responsibilities.

Benefits

A package that recognizes experience and results

$90,000–$105,000 base salary, based on relevant experience and demonstrated results.
Annual performance bonus of up to $15,000, tied to agreed targets for retention, profitable growth and effective account management.
Total annual cash compensation of $105,000–$120,000 when the full bonus is earned, depending on base salary.
Three weeks’ paid vacation, with additional vacation negotiable based on relevant experience and current entitlement.
