THE ROLE

As Senior Graphic Designer at JENNY BIRD, you will play a key role in evolving and protecting the brand’s visual identity across digital, print, retail, wholesale and physical brand experiences.

Working closely with the Associate Creative Director and Brand Marketing team, you will translate brand strategy, campaign concepts and business objectives into compelling, elevated creative. You will bring strong conceptual thinking, exceptional design craft and a deep understanding of both digital and print execution, leading projects from initial concept through final delivery.

A key part of this role will be shaping how the JENNY BIRD brand comes to life. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Growth to develop engaging, high-performing static digital campaigns across channels such as Meta, paid social and other digital advertising platforms.

You will also partner closely with the Associate Creative Director to continually refine and evolve JENNY BIRD’s visual guidelines, establishing thoughtful best practices around typography, layout, hierarchy, composition and graphic systems to ensure the brand remains distinctive, consistent and relevant as it grows.

This role is suited to a highly collaborative senior designer who is excited to evolve a strong visual identity through graphic design. You will balance big-picture creative thinking with meticulous attention to detail, provide thoughtful creative guidance and ensure the JENNY BIRD brand is expressed consistently across every customer and partner touchpoint.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand Design & Visual Identity

Partner with the Associate Creative Director to evolve and refine the JENNY BIRD visual identity across digital and physical touchpoints.
Develop and maintain brand guidelines related to typography, layout, hierarchy, composition, graphic systems and design best practices.
Translate brand strategy, campaign concepts and marketing objectives into elevated, cohesive creative solutions.
Ensure a consistent and recognizable visual language across all customer-facing and partner-facing communications.
Identify opportunities to evolve the brand’s visual expression while maintaining the integrity of its established identity.

Digital Campaigns & Growth Creative

Collaborate closely with the Director of Growth to concept and create engaging static digital advertising campaigns that balance brand storytelling with performance objectives.
Design campaign creative for Meta, paid social, display and other digital advertising channels, adapting concepts across multiple formats, placements and audience needs.
Partner with Growth and Marketing teams to incorporate creative testing, campaign learnings and performance insights into future design iterations.
Support larger campaign extensions as required, including out-of-home, retail takeovers, event graphics, window applications and other high-impact brand moments.
Maintain awareness of evolving digital advertising, e-commerce and social creative best practices and identify relevant opportunities for the brand.

Team Management & Quality Control

Manage the digital production designer by setting priorities, allocating workload, providing mentorship and creative guidance to support their growth.
Review and approve all creative work for brand consistency, design quality, technical accuracy and production-readiness before it ships.
Present creative concepts and rationale to creative leadership and cross-functional partners, and translate feedback into final execution.
Establish and reinforce creative best practices, file organization and production workflows across the team.

Design Systems & Creative Operations

Build and maintain scalable design systems, templates and asset libraries for site, email, paid media, social and other recurring creative needs without compromising brand quality.
Develop adaptable design frameworks that create consistency while allowing flexibility across channels, campaigns and formats.
Collaborate with copywriters, marketing, e-commerce, growth, wholesale and retail teams to develop integrated creative solutions.
Maintain organized design files, templates and asset libraries to support efficient workflows and cross-functional collaboration.
Continually identify opportunities to improve creative processes, production efficiency and design consistency.

Print, Packaging, Retail & Wholesale

Design and evolve retail, wholesale and physical brand materials, including packaging, lookbooks, gifting, PR/influencer mailers, line sheets, signage, POS displays and stockist collateral.
Prepare production-ready artwork and manage prepress requirements, coordinating with printers and production vendors on quality, accuracy and timelines.
Support retail visual merchandising, events and experiential initiatives with creative assets as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

6+ years of professional graphic or brand design experience, ideally within fashion, jewelry, beauty, retail, lifestyle or another highly visual consumer brand, including experience managing or mentoring designers.
A strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated design thinking across brand, campaign, digital and print work.
Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), with exceptional command of typography, composition, colour, imagery and visual storytelling.
Strong image-retouching and digital-production skills, including responsive design, accessibility considerations and image optimization.
Demonstrated experience leading projects from creative concept through final production, including working within and evolving established brand guidelines and design systems.
Experience contributing to campaign photoshoots - concept development, mood boards, shot planning, image selection or art-direction support.
Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage a team and multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to give and receive creative feedback across both creative and non-creative stakeholders.

NICE TO HAVE

Experience designing for Shopify and Klaviyo, with working knowledge of HTML and CSS for email and web environments.
Experience with motion design or short-form video (After Effects, Premiere Pro or similar).
Experience designing packaging, retail environments, or PR/influencer gifting materials.
Experience working directly with printers, production vendors and external creative partners.
Familiarity with creative testing and performance-marketing workflows, and curiosity about AI-assisted design tools.

ROLE DETAILS

Location: We have flexible working arrangements for the team. This role requires you to be in the office (East Room located at 507 King East, Toronto, Ontario) 3 days a week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays.
Salary: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85-95K. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
