Jereh Canada Corporation is seeking a Power Generation Engineer to support the continued growth of our power generation business across Canada.

This position combines hands-on power generation engineering with customer-facing technical support and project execution. The engineer will work directly with power generation equipment and electrical systems, supporting commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, failure analysis, performance improvement and the development of technical solutions for customer applications.

Based in Calgary, the position will also partner with the Canadian sales organization to evaluate customer requirements, define technical solutions and support opportunities across oil and gas, industrial manufacturing, utilities, construction, mining, data centers, remote power and emergency backup power applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for power generation systems and associated electrical equipment, including troubleshooting, failure analysis, corrective action planning and performance improvement.
  • Support commissioning and startup activities, including functional checks, performance testing, documentation and issue resolution.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, equipment specifications and technical documentation.
  • Partner with Sales during customer discussions to assess requirements, define technical solutions and provide engineering support throughout the sales cycle.
  • Develop technical scopes of work, execution plans, assumptions, exclusions and bill-of-material inputs for proposals and quotations.
  • Present technical solutions to customer engineering, operations, maintenance, procurement and HSE stakeholders.
  • Support or lead project execution activities including kickoff planning, schedule coordination, progress reporting, issue tracking and project closeout.
  • Coordinate internal resources, field teams, subcontractors and vendors to support safe execution and project milestones.
  • Support Canadian customer site-access, contractor-onboarding and safety requirements.
  • Evaluate market requirements for power generation solutions and translate customer needs into equipment configurations, solution recommendations and technical positioning.
  • Develop technical materials supporting customer engagement and market readiness, including capability summaries, application information and recommended system configurations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting power generation equipment, systems or projects in engineering, field engineering, service engineering or a technical project role.
  • Hands-on experience with power generation and electrical equipment such as generators, switchgear, transformers, protective relays, controls, UPS systems and related balance-of-plant equipment.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup, troubleshooting or reliability improvement in power generation environments.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Experience assessing customer technical requirements and translating them into practical engineering solutions.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and proposed solutions directly with customers.
  • Ability to work on-site in Calgary and travel across Canada as required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet customer site-access requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • Gas turbine, reciprocating engine or packaged generator systems, including auxiliary systems and controls.
  • Protection and controls, including relay logic, settings support and troubleshooting.
  • Canadian electrical standards and practices, including CSA and applicable provincial requirements.
  • Project coordination or project-management experience involving field execution.
  • Power generation applications supporting oil and gas, pipeline, utilities, mining, industrial, remote-power or emergency-backup markets.
  • Microsoft Excel, structured reporting and Power BI or comparable reporting tools.
