Original job description
You’re someone your team and our vendors can count on.
You’re detail-oriented, organized, and take ownership of your work from start to finish. You keep the numbers accurate, the deadlines met, and the documentation complete, and you flag issues before they become problems.
You take pride in clean reconciliations, enjoy the rhythm of month end, and are always looking for a better way to get things done. You work well with a team but don’t wait to be told to take action.
The Role
At Jim Peplinski Capital, we help businesses manage their vehicles and equipment so they can focus on running their business.
As an Accounts Payable Coordinator, you’ll be the backbone of our accounts payable function, making sure our clients and vendors are paid accurately and on time. You’ll manage the full accounts payable cycle, reconcile accounts, and make sure every payment is backed by the right documentation. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll work closely with the Finance team and across JPC.
Your goal is to keep our payables accurate, timely, and audit-ready, so our clients, vendors, and team can count on us.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years post secondary school education (i.e. Diploma in Accounting or greater)
- Experience working in Accounting Systems and spreadsheets
- Experience managing the full accounts payable cycle and account reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Process vendor invoices and payments accurately, on time, and in the right accounting period
- Manage payment queues and approval workflows in our Accounting Systems
- Reconcile and pay monthly corporate credit card transactions, wire transfers, and manual payments
- Maintain vendor records and payment terms
- Complete month-end reconciliations, account analyses, and reporting
- Maintain up-to-date reconciliations of prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities, and bring any discrepancies to management’s attention
- Complete monthly sales tax reporting and remittances ahead of deadlines, and follow up on sales tax refunds
- Support the year-end audit and contribute ideas to improve how we work
Our vision is to be the catalyst behind smarter fleets, optimized assets, and more resilient businesses.
We combine fleet and asset expertise with capital to help businesses get more from the vehicles and equipment they operate. We handle procurement, funding, reporting, fleet management, and asset disposition, reducing the time, cost, and complexity our customers have to manage.
Finance is central to delivering that value. Accurate, timely payments build trust with the clients, vendors, and partners we rely on, and you’ll have the opportunity to improve how we work as we grow.
We Offer
- An unplugged vacation policy
- Learning, coaching, and career development
- Autonomy and ownership in your role
- A team that works across functions to serve customers
If you want to own the details, keep the numbers right, and help a growing business run smarter, we’d like to meet you.
