Franklin General Contracting is looking for a reliable Construction Labourer to support our residential construction and general contracting crews.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in being dependable, and wants to contribute to a team that values quality, safety, and accountability.

You don't need to be an experienced carpenter to apply. We're open to candidates who are new to construction and willing to learn, as well as those who already have experience using tools and supporting skilled tradespeople.

The right person will be ready to help wherever needed, follow instructions, and take pride in doing the small things well. For candidates with the right interests and abilities, there may also be opportunities to develop skills in job-site documentation and construction technology.

What You'll Do

• Support the crew with daily construction and general labour tasks.
• Help prepare job sites and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Move, organize, and handle construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist carpenters and other team members with tasks appropriate to your experience and training.
• Learn to use hand and power tools safely under appropriate direction.
• Help with measuring, cutting, material preparation, and other basic construction tasks as your skills develop.
• Follow instructions from the Lead Carpenter and communicate questions or problems promptly.
• Help keep tools, materials, and work areas organized throughout the day.
• Follow job-site safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
• Arrive on time, work reliably, and contribute to a respectful and productive crew.
  
  

For candidates who are comfortable with technology, there may also be opportunities to take job-site photos, upload project information to JobTread, and support other basic documentation tasks.

What We're Looking For

• A dependable attitude and willingness to learn.
• No previous construction experience required for an entry-level candidate.
• For candidates with 2+ years of experience, familiarity with construction tools, materials, and basic site practices is an asset.
• The ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• A willingness to help different team members as project needs change.
• Good communication and a respectful approach to working with others.
• The ability to perform physical work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the service area.
• A valid driver's licence is an asset, particularly for candidates expected to travel between sites independently.
  
  

Experience using smartphones, apps, or construction software such as JobTread is an asset, but not required.
