- Coordinate on-site activities and communicate progress, material needs, and potential delays to the owner.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality expectations.
- Identify and resolve routine installation challenges and raise significant issues before they affect the project.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Support and guide other installers or developing team members when needed.
- Represent Tantalus Floors professionally when working in clients' homes and on construction sites.
- 5+ years of professional hardwood flooring installation experience
- Demonstrated professional experience in hardwood refinishing, troubleshooting, and leading jobs independently from start to finish
- Strong practical knowledge of hardwood and engineered wood flooring systems.
- Experience with hardwood sanding, staining, refinishing, and recoating is highly desirable.
- Ability to read project plans, follow specifications, and identify potential installation issues.
- Ability to organize and complete work independently from preparation through final inspection.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment on site.
- High standards for workmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Reliable, organized, and committed to completing work properly.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with the owner and other trades.
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation, if required for the role.
- $35-$45/ hour depending on experience and skills

- Flexible scheduling
- Extended health and dental benefits
- Full-time work or a flexible arrangement for the right person
- Interesting projects in luxury homes throughout Whistler and the Sea to Sky
- A friendly, laid-back and professional crew
- Powder days when the project schedule allows
- The opportunity to develop specialized flooring and refinishing skills
- Room to take on more responsibility as your skills grow
Please submit your resume and a brief introduction outlining your hardwood flooring experience, the types of projects you've worked on, and the installation and refinishing work you can confidently complete independently.
