Original job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Representative based in Canada.

This is an opportunity to drive revenue growth across a defined territory within the life sciences and scientific solutions market.

You’ll own the sales process across a diverse customer base, combining new business development with strategic account expansion.

The role is highly consultative, requiring you to understand customer operations and translate their needs into tailored solutions.

You’ll work closely with account managers, product specialists, customer care teams, and manufacturer representatives to deliver strong customer outcomes.

Success will require strong territory ownership, disciplined pipeline management, and the ability to build lasting relationships with decision-makers.

The position is field-oriented, with significant customer travel and regular engagement across the Greater Vancouver Area.

It’s well suited to a commercially driven professional who enjoys autonomy, relationship building, and selling solutions in a complex B2B environment.

Accountabilities

Manage a defined territory of customers across multiple markets, developing and executing sales strategies designed to increase revenue and gross profit.
Prospect for new business, build a qualified sales pipeline, and develop proposals that clearly communicate the value of available solutions.
Expand relationships with existing customers by identifying evolving needs and developing strategies that support retention and account growth.
Conduct consultative sales conversations, understand customer requirements, recommend appropriate products and solutions, and present product information effectively.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, decision-makers, and business stakeholders while supporting satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
Partner with account managers, product specialists, customer care, sales leadership, and local manufacturer representatives to coordinate customer solutions and improve product knowledge.
Develop and execute territory business plans aligned with broader commercial objectives and sales strategies.
Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity, using relevant business intelligence and productivity tools to manage the territory effectively.
Manage time and customer coverage independently, including frequent on-site meetings and travel throughout the assigned territory.
Apply established sales practices, product knowledge, company policies, and conduct standards while identifying opportunities to improve account profitability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent practical experience preferred.
Approximately 1–3+ years of relevant sales experience, preferably in a B2B, scientific, laboratory, distribution, or technology-related environment.
Experience working in complex sales environments involving multiple stakeholders and a solution-oriented purchasing process.
Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers, develop opportunities, manage a sales pipeline, and close business.
Strong consultative selling skills, including the ability to understand customer operations, uncover business needs, and communicate relevant solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and conduct effective business conversations with owners, decision-makers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Strong analytical and strategic account-management capabilities, with the ability to identify opportunities within customer organizations.
Ability to work independently, prioritize activities, manage time effectively, and take ownership of a defined geographic territory.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM or business intelligence platforms such as Salesforce or QlikView is preferred.
Ability to travel extensively to customer locations, including approximately 50–75% travel and occasional overnight stays.
Valid driver’s license in good standing and ability to travel throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and, when required, to the United States for conferences or training.
A scientific background, laboratory or research experience, distribution experience, or previous exposure to life sciences customers would be an advantage.

Benefits

Base salary range of $61,500–$101,430 CAD.
Target cash opportunity of approximately $87,900–$144,900 CAD, combining base salary with target sales incentive.
