This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager - Strategic Programs based in Canada.
This role leads the strategic planning and operating engine for a complex global Product Development organization. You will shape annual and long-range priorities, roadmaps, governance, and decision-making processes that keep teams aligned and moving with speed. Working closely with senior leadership, you will turn business strategy into actionable priorities and lead high-impact initiatives from definition through delivery. You will manage a team of strategy and operations professionals while serving as a key connector across Product Development, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, and other functions. The role combines strategic thinking, analytical rigor, operational leadership, and strong stakeholder influence. It is well suited to an experienced leader who thrives in an ambitious, fast-moving, and highly collaborative environment.

Accountabilities:
- Own the annual and long-range strategic planning cycle, including planning frameworks, timelines, roadmaps, and leadership outputs.
- Translate business strategy into clear Product Development priorities and keep plans aligned with evolving market, consumer, and competitive dynamics.
- Lead complex, high-priority cross-functional initiatives, including new product and market opportunities, cost savings programs, and capability-building investments.
- Develop analytical and financial frameworks to evaluate opportunities, size investments, and support go/no-go decisions.
- Coordinate complex programs across Product Development, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, and other business functions.
- Own the organization's operating rhythm, including leadership planning sessions, roadmap governance, executive reviews, and team communications.
- Design and improve governance structures, decision rights, escalation processes, and review cadences that enable effective decision-making.
- Ensure senior stakeholders receive accurate, timely, and actionable information to support strategic decisions.
- Lead, develop, and performance-manage a team of strategy and operations professionals, establishing clear priorities and accountability.
- Establish standards and methodologies for strategic analysis, initiative management, stakeholder communication, and planning facilitation.
- Build strong relationships with leadership and cross-functional teams while positioning the function as a trusted strategic partner.
- Bring insights on consumer needs, market opportunities, white space, and competitive dynamics into product strategy and leadership decisions.
- Partner with Consumer Insights, Brand, and Commercial teams to ensure strategic priorities are grounded in consumer evidence.
- Within the first year, strengthen the planning process, improve visibility into strategic priorities and trade-offs, develop a high-performing team, and contribute directly to the organization's strategic agenda.
Requirements:
- 8–12 years of experience in strategy, strategic operations, or product strategy within consumer products, technology, management consulting, or a similar environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams, with direct people leadership experience required.
- Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives from initial definition through successful delivery and measurable outcomes.
- Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including the ability to build models, interpret results, and translate data into clear strategic recommendations.
- Experience designing and managing strategic planning processes within large or complex organizations.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to build alignment among senior leaders and simplify complex topics without sacrificing rigor.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and develop practical solutions when established answers or processes do not exist.
- Strong organizational skills, strategic judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of execution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AI tools, and data and financial analysis tools.
- Experience in consumer products or consumer electronics, particularly with exposure to product development or product management processes, is a plus.
- Background in management consulting, corporate strategy, or a high-growth consumer business is desirable.
- Passion for building operational infrastructure and processes that enable high-performing product teams to work effectively.
