Original job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales) based in Canada.

This role sits at the intersection of enterprise technology, solution architecture, and strategic sales, helping customers design reliable and scalable systems.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding organizations through complex architecture decisions and technology modernization initiatives.

Working closely with sales teams, you will lead technical discovery, demonstrations, proof-of-value activities, presentations, sizing, and solution documentation.

The role covers customers ranging from innovative startups to large enterprise organizations, providing exposure to diverse technical challenges and industries.

You will help shape multi-threaded account strategies while translating complex technical capabilities into clear business value for both technical and executive audiences.

The position also offers opportunities to work with cloud platforms, distributed systems, databases, Kubernetes, AI/ML, and modern application architectures.

You will contribute to customer success while mentoring peers and continuously developing your expertise across evolving technologies and solution patterns.

Accountabilities

Design scalable, highly available, and performant applications, systems, and infrastructure for complex software environments.
Advise customers on architecture patterns, optimization strategies, data platforms, and modern application design.
Analyze existing application architectures and recommend improvements that address scalability, reliability, performance, and business requirements.
Partner with sales teams on account planning, opportunity qualification, prioritization, pipeline generation, and technical strategy.
Own the technical aspects of sales opportunities, including discovery, demonstrations, proof-of-value engagements, presentations, sizing, and documentation.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with technical stakeholders, business leaders, and executive decision-makers.
Develop multi-threaded account strategies and coordinate internal and ecosystem resources around shared customer objectives.
Generate demand through technical initiatives, industry events, account-based activities, and other customer engagement opportunities.
Help customers modernize legacy systems and adopt scalable, efficient technology architectures.
Foster customer champions and support long-term satisfaction and successful technology adoption.
Gather field feedback and collaborate with product teams to identify opportunities for product and process improvements.
Mentor other solutions consulting professionals and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
Stay current with cloud technologies, distributed systems, databases, AI/ML, security, and emerging architecture patterns.
Travel up to 25% to support customer and business engagements.

Requirements

8–11 years of relevant experience in customer-facing technology roles, ideally including 5–7 years in pre-sales within enterprise software.
At least 3 years of professional experience with modern scripting or programming languages such as Python, Node.js, SQL, C/C++, Java, or C#.
Proven experience designing scalable and highly available distributed systems in cloud and/or on-premises environments.
Demonstrated ability to assess complex application architectures and provide practical recommendations for modernization and optimization.
Strong understanding of enterprise software architecture, cloud technologies, data platforms, and application development.
Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and business concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
Ability to collaborate strategically with sales teams and influence account direction through technical expertise and customer insight.
Strong relationship-building and consultative skills, with the ability to establish credibility with customers and internal stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple complex opportunities and work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
Experience with database technologies and/or applications deployed on major cloud providers is an advantage.
Experience with data engineering, AI/ML projects, legacy modernization, or modern scalable technology stacks is preferred.
Familiarity with sales methodologies or frameworks such as MEDDPICC or Command of the Message is a plus.
Database or cloud provider certifications are advantageous.
