Original job description

Montreal | Laurentians | Architectural Projects

At SIROY, we're looking for a superintendent who truly understands construction sites and has experience managing large-scale projects from start to finish.

You know that a well-managed construction site isn't one without unforeseen challenges. It's one where the issues are anticipated, where people communicate effectively, and where the right decisions are made at the right time. We want to meet you.

Your Role

You will be the key contact person on the construction site.

You will work closely with the project manager, our team leaders, our carpenters, and our partners. Your role will be to transform plans into reality while maintaining the level of quality expected at SIROY. Specifically, you will be responsible for: Reviewing plans, specifications, technical details, and project objectives; Planning short-term work according to the overall schedule; Organizing work sequences and anticipating next steps; Coordinating our carpentry teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and deliveries; Ensuring everyone has the necessary information, materials, and access; Monitoring daily progress and promptly reporting any deviations from the schedule; Checking the quality of execution and adherence to plans and Quotes; Inspect the work before it is covered; Identify technical issues, document situations, and propose solutions; Lead site meetings and ensure follow-up on decisions; Document the project's progress with our reports, photos, and management tools; Ensure health and safety and maintain a clean and well-organized worksite; Coordinate inspections, follow-up on deficiencies, and site closure.

The objective: to move the project forward efficiently, without ever sacrificing quality, safety, or respect for everyone's work.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for someone who is passionate about construction and knows how to lead a team without raising their voice.

You Must

Have several years of experience Experience as a superintendent, foreman, or in a comparable role; Have worked in high-end residential construction, major renovations, or on complex projects; Have a good understanding of construction methods and sequences; Be very comfortable reading plans and specifications; Have solid knowledge of structure, building envelope, and finishing; Be able to plan several steps in advance; Have sound judgment and a knack for finding solutions; Be self-reliant and highly organized; Communicate clearly with tradespeople, professionals, and clients; Be comfortable using digital site monitoring tools; Hold a valid ASP Construction certificate; Hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel between sites Construction sites.

A journeyman carpenter-joiner card and hands-on experience with tools are significant assets.

At SIROY, leadership isn't about shouting. It's about competence, preparation, leading by example, and respect.

Stimulating Projects

SIROY is a general contractor with its own teams of carpenters-joiners. We primarily undertake new construction and major renovations, from Montreal to Mont-Tremblant.

We work on high-end residences and complex architectural projects that demand close coordination, high precision, and meticulous attention to detail.

We regularly collaborate with architects, designers, engineers, and specialized consultants. SIROY is also Passivhaus and Novoclimat certified, reflecting the importance we place on sound construction methods and quality workmanship.

Come build the team with us

SIROY is growing and continues to develop its own carpentry teams.

You will have real autonomy on the construction site, with the support of an experienced team in the office and on-site. Our processes are well-established, but there is still room to contribute ideas, improve our methods, and have a tangible impact.

So you're not just managing construction sites. You're helping to shape how we run them.

Working at SIROY

We value clean construction sites, organized teams, and people who are proud of their work.

We take construction seriously, but we also want to have fun together. Our values: Building connections. Creating moments. Having fun. Pushing boundaries. Giving back. Skiing, fishing, dinners, team activities, involvement in the 24h Tremblant: we want to build a company where people are proud of their projects and appreciate the people they work with. Our work has been recognized at the Grands Prix du Design and the Prix Domus. Ultimately, a beautiful project is the result of hundreds of good decisions made on the construction site. Do you know the construction industry, know how to manage a site, and want to participate in projects you can truly be proud of? We want to meet you.
