  • Operate conventional lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
  • Inspect CNC machine axes and mechanical conditions, including backlash, bearings, spindles, turrets, alignment, and spindle runout
  • Diagnose and correct machine-condition issues that could affect quality or production performance
  • Power up CNC equipment, return machine axes to home position, and verify chuck runout and face alignment using dial indicators
  • Use M-codes in MDI mode to control machine functions, including coolant, chuck clamping, and turret indexing
  • Operate Fanuc, Okuma, Siemens, and other CNC control systems in handle, jog, MDI, and automatic modes
  • Apply basic CNC programming knowledge using G, M, F, S, and T codes
  • Modify CNC programs and safely validate machining cycles using single-block operation
  • Verify chuck air confirmation systems and set pressure switches using approved masters
  • Troubleshoot CNC and conventional machine workholding issues to reduce downtime and prevent quality problems
  • Follow process sheets, Operator Inspection Sheets, first-off inspection requirements, and Statistical Process Control procedures
  • Replace cutting inserts, tools, and toolholders as required
