Original job description
Title: Senior Social Media Videographer & Editor
Location: Winnipeg, MB (editing from home, filming on site around Winnipeg)
Type: Full-time, hourly
Pay: $60,000 to $80,000 a year (about $28.85 to $38.46 an hour), based on experience, plus paid overtime
About Journeyman MarketingJourneyman Marketing is a creative team that builds premium, story-driven media for the construction industry. We capture real craftsmanship and turn it into content that earns attention, attracts talent and strengthens brands, without the fluff. We work with construction and trades companies across North America, and we're proud of the work we put our name on.
The roleWe're hiring an experienced editor & videographer who is equally confident behind the camera and in the edit. You'll plan and run shoots on active construction sites, often on your own, then edit short-form content that performs. You'll work with our Social Media Coordinators on monthly plans and own the quality of everything you deliver.
This is not an entry-level role. We need someone who can walk onto a job site, get the shot and the interview without supervision, and hand in an edit that's ready to post.
What you'll do- Shoot on active construction sites in and around Winnipeg: interviews, crews at work, B-roll and drone where needed
- Run your own camera, lighting and audio, and handle on-camera interviews with tradespeople
- Edit short-form content (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, 20 to 60 seconds) in Premiere Pro, with colour, sound design and light motion graphics
- Produce up to 50 reels a month across your assigned clients.
- Help plan monthly content and shoots with our coordinators, and bring your own ideas
- Keep footage, project files and gear organized and ready for the next shoot
- 3+ years of paid work both shooting and editing video
- A reel or portfolio that includes 2 to 3 pieces you shot and edited yourself (tell us your role on anything collaborative)
- Strong command of camera, lighting and audio in real-world conditions, not just in a studio
- Fluent in Premiere Pro, or able to switch to it quickly from another editor
- Strong storytelling, pacing and colour fundamentals, and the speed to keep up with short-form volume
- Comfortable working on active construction sites in all seasons, with steel-toe boots and site PPE
- Driving to job sites is an essential part of this role: you'll need a valid driver's licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Live in or near Winnipeg
Nice to have: drone licence (Advanced RPAS certificate) and drone experience; After Effects or motion graphics; photography; construction, industrial or trades experience.
What we offer- $60,000 to $80,000 a year, based on experience, plus paid overtime
- Health, dental, vision, life and AD&D, disability, travel coverage and an employee assistance program (after a 3-month probation)
- 4% vacation pay on every paycheque
- Company laptop, storage, monitor and software
- Edit from home, with your shoots out on real job sites
- Real ownership of your clients' content and room to grow as we scale
- Unimpeachable Character: be the kind of person people are proud to stand beside, in business and in life.
- Relentless Growth: raise the standard for yourself, for the team and for the work.
- Move Fast, Learn Faster: stay calm in the storm. Resilience is our superpower.
- Leave It Better Than You Found It: everything we touch should end up stronger.
Apply with your resume and a link to your reel. Applications without a reel won't be reviewed. You can also send your resume and portfolio/demo reel to hiring@journeymanmarketing.ca.
Only selected applicants will be contacted.
