Role Description
- Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy to children, youth, and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA [Ont.]).
- Implement individualized ABA treatment and skill-acquisition programs developed and/or approved by the supervising RBA (Ont.).
- Implement programs targeting communication, social skills, daily living skills, school readiness, emotional regulation, and independence.
- Follow prescribed ABA teaching procedures, including prompting and prompt fading, reinforcement, error correction, task analysis, and generalization strategies.
- Collect accurate and objective session data and complete clinical documentation in accordance with established treatment protocols.
- Implement behaviour support and safety procedures as directed by the supervising RBA (Ont.) and according to the client’s individualized plan.
- Observe and document client progress, responses to intervention, and relevant behavioural concerns, and report them to the supervising clinician.
- Prepare and organize therapy materials required for individualized client programming.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision with the RBA (Ont.) and implement clinical feedback and program updates as directed.
- Communicate and collaborate professionally with Senior Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, families, and other interdisciplinary team members within the IT’s scope of responsibilities.
- Maintain client confidentiality, professional boundaries, and accurate client records.
- Follow all clinical protocols, safety procedures, and organizational policies of Joy And Grow Therapy Inc.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, compassionate, and supportive therapeutic environment for clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), behavioural science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience delivering behaviour intervention and/or skill-building programs to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or developmental disabilities.
- Strong working knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles and evidence-based teaching strategies that support communication, social skills, skill acquisition, and independence.
- Demonstrated ability to implement individualized behaviour intervention and skill-acquisition programs, including data collection, prompting and prompt fading, reinforcement, and behaviour support strategies.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills when working with clients, families, supervisors, and other professionals.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and timely client documentation and clinical records.
- Compassionate, patient, professional, and supportive approach when working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and follow organizational and clinical policies and procedures.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required.
