Jump Recruitment Specialists has partnered with one of Newfoundland and Labrador's largest and most respected funeral service providers in their search for a full-time, permanent Funeral Director. This position is based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Funeral Director, you will provide compassionate care and steady guidance to families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. You will help families make informed decisions, coordinate meaningful funeral and memorial services, and ensure every detail is managed with sensitivity, dignity, and respect. Through empathy, professionalism, and genuine support, you will help create a meaningful and comforting experience that honors the life and legacy of each individual while providing families with care, reassurance, and peace of mind every step of the way.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meeting families for Preplanning/Prefunding purposes with the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Funeral Planning and Coordination for At Need families with professional experience interacting with the general public
• Strong Embalming skills Preparing Remains: Embalming for Traditional and Short –Term Viewing
• Strong Cremation skills
• Set up and clean the Reposing Room / Chapel / Receptions for At Need families
• Conduct Funeral services at Chapel and Churches and conduct Committal Services
• The ability to work a shift work schedule which includes weekends /nights and be on call
• Job requires physically challenging work that includes standing long periods of time, lifting, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Funeral Director’s and Embalmer’s License
• A valid NL driver’s license
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, solve problems, and be a team player
• Must balance professional service with demanding workloads
• Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude
• Have higher than average office, computer and organizational skills with attention to detail
