ABOUT BOOMSTICK BREWING CO.:

Located in downtown Corner Brook, Boomstick Brewing Co. is a proud Newfoundland craft brewery and alehouse with a passion for great beer, great food, and bringing people together. With a beer program inspired by craft brewing traditions from around the world and the stories and character of Newfoundland and Labrador, Boomstick has established itself as a destination for locals and visitors alike.

At Boomstick, brewing is about more than making beer. It’s about quality, creativity, consistency, and having fun with the craft, and sharing that spirit with the community. From our core beers and seasonal releases to new recipes and experiments, we make beer for people to enjoy together and feel proud to call their own.

On West Street, the brewery is part of a lively gathering place where good beer, food, events, and a seasonal beer garden bring neighbors and visitors together.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Brewer to play a key role in the continued growth of Boomstick’s brewing program. Working alongside a passionate team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to bring their technical expertise, creativity, and love of craft beer to a brewery that takes its product seriously, while keeping the culture fun.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the brewery, including brewing, cellar operations, packaging, reporting, and recipe development.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Quality Program for Boomstick Brewing Company, including defined and measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Work closely with the Sales & Distribution Manager and brew team daily to ensure production and operational targets are achieved effectively and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and fully functional brewing facility always.
  • Complete and/or supervise inventory counts of finished beer, grain, hops, and other raw materials, maintaining accurate records.
  • Monitor inventory levels and follow established procedures for raw materials, chemicals, beer, cooperage, small parts, packaging, and other supplies; place orders as required.
  • Collaborate with the brewery team and management to maintain the quality and consistency of our established core and seasonal products, while developing new recipes and planning future products, production timelines, and packaging goals.
  • In coordination with the Sales & Distribution Manager, plan and execute the internal movement of packaged products, including small-batch rotation, and update batch logs as required.
  • Schedule and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance for brewery equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate additional staffing requirements during peak periods, including packaging and other production needs.
  • Oversee the development, production, and continued growth of Boomstick’s diverse beverage portfolio - including beer, cider, ready-to-drink beverages, and non-alcoholic beer, while identifying and pursuing opportunities to further diversify the product line and make effective use of the brewery’s space and equipment.
  • Represent Boomstick Brewing Co. at events, festivals, and promotional activities, helping to build the brand and maintain positive relationships within the community.
  • Address customer concerns and complaints professionally and appropriately when required.
  • Identify and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends, brewing practices, and technical knowledge.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 10 years’ proven experience in a leadership role within the beverage manufacturing industry, preferably in brewing or beverage production.
  • Education in Brewing, Food Science, Chemistry or Microbiology is an asset.
  • Familiarity with sanitation standards, food safety regulations, and quality assurance practices.
  • Basic math skills for measuring ingredients, adjusting recipes, and managing inventory accurately.

  • Excellent communication skills for team leadership and cross-department collaboration.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • A competitive compensation package
  • A flexible, supportive, and collaborative work environment.
  • The opportunity to grow your career within a larger, hospitality focused group of companies.
  • Access to a management incentive program with perks across all company owned businesses.
