Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid)

Role Summary:
We are looking for a Kafka Engineer with strong experience in Apache Kafka, Python, Linux, and Grafana to support and enhance large-scale distributed systems within an Investment Banking environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about troubleshooting complex systems and building reliable, high-performance data streaming solutions.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and its ecosystem/tools.
- Strong Python development experience.
- Good knowledge of Linux/Unix, shell scripting, and command-line utilities.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana.
- Knowledge of MongoDB.
- Experience working in Agile and globally distributed teams.
- Exposure to the Investment Banking domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and support Kafka-based data streaming solutions.
- Develop automation and utility scripts using Python.
- Monitor platform health and performance using Grafana and related tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across distributed environments.
- Collaborate with global teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
- Analyze system behavior and perform root cause analysis for complex issues.
Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years in Kafka, Python, and Linux-based environments with financial services or investment banking exposure.
