Position: Mainframe QA E2E Test Lead

Location: Hybrid- Toronto, ON

Job type: Full-Time/Permanent Hiring

As an E2E QA Test Lead, you will champion quality assurance across our core enterprise applications, critical cloud migration initiatives, and ongoing digital transformation programs. This role bridges the gap between foundational backend infrastructure and modern web architectures. You will define end-to-end testing strategies, orchestrate complex integration environments (SIT/UAT), and validate high-volume data streams across Mainframe systems and modernized cloud layers.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Execution: Define, establish, and execute comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) testing strategies, test plans, and robust validation frameworks spanning multiple integrated legacy and cloud-native applications.
Mainframe & Database Validation: Perform deep backend verification, validating data directly within Mainframe tables, schemas, and Stored Procedures to ensure transactional integrity during system migrations.
Multi-Tier QA Leadership: Oversee and drive cross-functional testing activities, including functional, integration (SIT), regression, smoke, API, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Test Automation Champion: Direct and scale test automation practices leveraging tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, and Rest Assured to accelerate release cycles.
Stakeholder & Release Coordination: Partner directly with business stakeholders, developers, enterprise architects, and DevOps teams to mitigate environment risks, track deployment readiness, and deliver high-quality code.
Defect Management & Governance: Lead the full defect management lifecycle, providing comprehensive test summary reports, continuous quality metrics, and proactive risk assessments to project leadership.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 7–9 years of dedicated Quality Engineering, QA Lead, or end-to-end testing delivery experience within complex enterprise environments (Financial Services or Insurance sectors preferred).
Mainframe Mastery: Proven experience with Mainframe testing, database validation, schema checks, and verifying complex backend Stored Procedures.
Automation Tooling: Solid hands-on experience or deep technical familiarity driving automation frameworks built on Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, or Rest Assured.
Artifact Generation: Masterful ability to create executive-level testing artifacts, including Master Test Strategies, robust Test Cases, and clear Test Summary Reports.
Methodology: Strong capability operating within fast-paced Agile delivery teams, managing release gates, and navigating cloud migration or digital transformation landscapes.
