Position: Project Manager with AML experience

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Range: 8-10 Years

Job Description:

Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for AML compliance programs and system implementations.
Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Technology, and Business teams to ensure alignment and smooth project delivery.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects meet regulatory requirements and industry standards (FATF, FinCEN, OSFI guidelines)
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly those related to compliance and regulatory exposure
Monitoring & Reporting: Track project progress, manage budgets, and provide regular status updates to senior leadership
Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process enhancements to strengthen AML controls and operational efficiency
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and audit trails for regulatory examination

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in AML, compliance, or regulatory environments
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
Strong understanding of AML regulations, KYC (Know Your Customer), and financial crime prevention
Experience managing technology implementations and system integrations
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) certification.
Banking or financial services industry experience
Familiarity with AML software platforms and compliance systems
Experience with Agile or hybrid project method.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver AML compliance programs and technology implementations, coordinating with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Technology, and Business teams. Manage regulatory and project risks, budgets, reporting, process improvements, and documentation to support compliance and audit requirements.

Requirements

Requires at least five years of project management experience, including three years in AML, compliance, or regulatory environments, along with a PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification. Candidates should understand AML regulations, KYC, and financial crime prevention, and have experience with technology implementations, system integrations, stakeholder management, and project management tools; CAMS and financial services experience are preferred.
