Role Description This full-time, on-site Allergist role is based at Kanata Allergy Clinic in Kanata, ON. The Allergist will perform comprehensive clinical assessments, take detailed patient histories, and conduct physical examinations focused on allergic and immunologic conditions. Daily responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as skin prick tests, spirometry, and blood work, as well as developing individualized treatment plans. The Allergist will provide ongoing management of chronic conditions, prescribe medications and immunotherapy, and educate patients and families on avoidance strategies and emergency action plans. Additional duties include maintaining accurate medical records, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and participating in quality improvement and practice development activities.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent), completion of residency in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics, and fellowship training in Clinical Immunology/Allergy.
- Eligible for or holding licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and appropriate certification (e.g., Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and collaborative teamwork.
- Ability to manage a busy outpatient practice, maintain accurate documentation, and use electronic medical record systems efficiently.
- The clinic runs clinical trials, participation in clinical research is optional.
