Project Technician- Full Time, Mississauga, Travel within Greater Toronto Area| $27-$37/hr + Benefits & Company Vehicle or Vehicle Alowance
Position Overview
Kendrix is seeking a skilled Project Technician to support our field operations team. This role is ideal for a technician who is comfortable working independently on installations, understands best practices in electronic security systems, and can support junior technicians onsite when required.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Execution & Installation (Primary Functions)
- Independently install and support:
- CCTV systems
- Intrusion alarm systems
- Analogue and VoIP intercom systems
- Structured cabling
- EMT, PVC, and Wiremold conduit
- Magnetic locks and electric strikes
- Automatic door and gate controls
- Perform system integration including:
- Intrusion systems integrated with access control
- CCTV systems integrated with access control
- Complete software installation, configuration, and system upgrades
- Attend job‑site meetings as required
- Perform networking‑related tasks including:
- LAN / WAN setup
- DHCP, TCP/IP networking
- Basic router configuration including port forwarding
- Complete job-site documentation, including:
- Work orders
- Test and commissioning reports
- Deficiency and close‑out documentation
Team Support & Collaboration
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to junior technicians
- Participate in scheduled on‑call support rotation as required

Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience in electronic security or low‑voltage installations
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and system drawings
- Strong understanding of electronic security devices and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience using power tools including hammer drills, grinders, and cutting tools
- Proficient with test equipment including: Multimeters, network testers and scanners
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for basic data import/export
- Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
