A specialized financial services organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its finance team. About the Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, the Financial Analyst will support the accounting, reporting, tax, and administrative requirements of a portfolio of investment-related entities. You'll work closely with internal finance and business teams as well as external accounting, tax, audit, and service providers.
What You'll Do
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting working papers
- Support month-end and year-end close activities for assigned entities
- Prepare capital account, distribution, and investor-related calculations and documentation
- Assist with budgeting and analysis of actual results against expectations
- Prepare audit support materials and respond to external auditor requests
- Compile information for regulatory and tax reporting requirements
- Prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules for domestic and international tax compliance
- Assist with invoicing, payment processing, and cash management activities
- Maintain process documentation and identify opportunities to improve finance workflows
- Coordinate with external advisors and service providers to ensure accurate and timely deliverables
What You'll Bring
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in public accounting, audit, fund accounting, or a related environment
- CPA designation or active progress toward a CPA qualification
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with detailed financial data and calculations
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet competing deadlines
- Ability to learn new processes quickly, take ownership, and exercise sound judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
- Exposure to financial services, investment, fund, partnership, or asset management accounting is an asset
- Familiarity with tax, capital accounts, distributions, or cross-border reporting is an asset
- Experience with accounting systems or process documentation is an asset
- Interest in investment management and financial markets is an asset
