Original job description

A specialized financial services organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to expand beyond traditional audit work and gain broader experience across financial reporting, investment-related accounting, tax support, and operational finance.

About the Role

Reporting to a senior finance leader, the Financial Analyst will support the accounting, reporting, tax, and administrative requirements of a portfolio of investment-related entities. You'll work closely with internal finance and business teams as well as external accounting, tax, audit, and service providers.

What You'll Do

Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting working papers

Support month-end and year-end close activities for assigned entities

Prepare capital account, distribution, and investor-related calculations and documentation

Assist with budgeting and analysis of actual results against expectations

Prepare audit support materials and respond to external auditor requests

Compile information for regulatory and tax reporting requirements

Prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules for domestic and international tax compliance

Assist with invoicing, payment processing, and cash management activities

Maintain process documentation and identify opportunities to improve finance workflows

Coordinate with external advisors and service providers to ensure accurate and timely deliverables

What You'll Bring

1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in public accounting, audit, fund accounting, or a related environment

CPA designation or active progress toward a CPA qualification

Strong Excel skills and confidence working with detailed financial data and calculations

Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet competing deadlines

Ability to learn new processes quickly, take ownership, and exercise sound judgment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team

Exposure to financial services, investment, fund, partnership, or asset management accounting is an asset

Familiarity with tax, capital accounts, distributions, or cross-border reporting is an asset

Experience with accounting systems or process documentation is an asset

Interest in investment management and financial markets is an asset
