Original job description

A growing finance and accounting services organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support a diverse portfolio of clients. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on financial management, client advisory work, and the chance to take on broader responsibilities while progressing toward a leadership role.

About the Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee accounting and financial reporting activities for multiple clients across a range of industries. The role combines day-to-day accounting responsibilities with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and direct client interaction.

This position is well suited to a technically strong accountant who enjoys working across multiple businesses, solving financial challenges, and delivering practical insights to support informed decision-making. There is also room to take on additional leadership responsibilities as your experience develops.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage full-cycle accounting activities for multiple clients, ensuring accurate and timely financial records.

  • Oversee month-end close processes, account reconciliations, financial statements, and related reporting requirements.

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analyses to support clients’ financial planning and operational decisions.

  • Participate in regular client meetings to discuss financial performance, upcoming priorities, and business needs.

  • Provide financial guidance and practical recommendations to business owners and senior stakeholders.

  • Review accounting work completed by junior team members and provide guidance where appropriate.

  • Manage detailed reporting requirements, including cost allocations, project-related expenses, and other financial analyses.

  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency, and quality across client deliverables.

  • Adapt to different accounting systems, reporting structures, and client requirements.

  • Contribute to process improvements and help strengthen accounting practices across the client portfolio.

What You Bring

  • A CPA designation or progress toward completion is preferred.

  • Approximately 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, with flexibility for candidates demonstrating strong technical skills and growth potential.

  • Solid experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

  • Experience supporting multiple entities, business units, or clients is a strong asset.

  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with business owners and other stakeholders.

  • Comfort working with cloud-based accounting platforms and learning new financial applications.

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently.

  • A flexible, resourceful approach to managing competing priorities and varied client needs.

  • Previous experience reviewing work or mentoring junior colleagues is an asset.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to build a broader accounting skill set in a collaborative, client-focused environment. You’ll gain exposure to varied financial operations, develop advisory and business partnering skills, and work closely with experienced finance professionals.

The organization supports ongoing professional development and offers opportunities to expand your responsibilities over time. For an ambitious Senior Accountant looking to move beyond routine reporting into more comprehensive financial management, this role provides a strong platform for long-term career growth.
