Original job description

A progressive organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its finance team and play a key role supporting financial operations across corporate and project-based activities. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced accounting or finance professional who brings strong analytical skills, sound accounting knowledge, and an interest in expanding their expertise across project finance, taxation, and broader business operations.

This role offers a strong opportunity for an experienced accounting or finance professional to take on a broad range of responsibilities spanning project cost management, financial analysis, and corporate tax support. It would also be an excellent next step for someone coming from an accounting firm who is looking to transition into an industry environment.

What You’ll Do

Support financial activities related to ongoing development and construction projects.
Prepare and coordinate project funding and draw documentation.
Prepare, review, and analyze project cost reports, ensuring costs are accurately tracked and reported.
Monitor project spending and investigate variances or discrepancies as needed.
Support monthly corporate income tax requirements, including gathering financial information and preparing preliminary calculations.
Maintain an understanding of corporate tax payment and instalment requirements.
Work closely with external tax advisors to provide supporting information, respond to requests, and help ensure deadlines are met.
Assist with financial reporting, accounting analysis, reconciliations, and other ad hoc finance initiatives.
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls, and overall financial efficiency.

What You Bring

Strong accounting or financial analysis experience, ideally with exposure to project-based or corporate environments.
Experience preparing or reviewing financial information and analyzing costs, variances, and supporting documentation.
Working knowledge of corporate income tax concepts and requirements.
Ability to prepare preliminary tax information and calculations and communicate effectively with external tax advisors.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders and external advisors.
CPA designation or progress toward a CPA is an asset.

Why Join

Opportunity to gain valuable industry experience while working closely with experienced finance and external advisory teams. Particularly well suited for an accounting-firm professional looking to make their first move into industry. Exposure to development and construction-related financial activities. Opportunity to take ownership of meaningful responsibilities and contribute to process and reporting improvements. Collaborative environment with room to broaden your financial and commercial expertise.
