We're looking for a Site Supervisor - Earthworks to support our growing team.
The Site Supervisor oversees site crews, safety, compliance, and daily operations to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to plan. This role leads civil earthworks and environmental construction activities while ensuring project specifications, schedules, and quality standards are achieved.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise site employees, including operators, labourers, surveyors, and subcontractors, while ensuring KBL safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices are followed.
- Supervise civil earthworks and environmental construction activities, including excavation, grading, hauling, remediation, erosion control, water works, habitat restoration, and stormwater management.
- Coordinate and efficiently utilize excavators, dozers, rock trucks, compactors, and other site equipment, ensuring equipment is properly operated, serviced, and refuelled.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to understand project specifications, blueprints, design drawings, scope of work, budgets, and schedules.
- Monitor site progress and communicate effectively with employees, clients, consultants, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards.
Who You Are
- Minimum 10+ years of earthworks experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role, with prior heavy equipment operating experience.
- Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, hauling, civil construction, and heavy equipment operations; environmental project experience is considered an asset.
- A strong leader with superior communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
What You Need
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Valid industry safety tickets, including H2S, First Aid, Ground Disturbance, and CSTS.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability and willingness to travel to project locations, work varying schedules and 12-hour shifts, and work outdoors in varied terrain and weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical site duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs., prolonged periods on your feet, and assisting crews.
