The Opportunity

Kellow Recruiting is partnering with an established Canadian automotive metal-stamping manufacturer in Markham to recruit an experienced, hands-on Industrial Electrician.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex machinery, solving problems and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where their skills make a direct impact.

You'll be joining a well-established operation with a diverse range of industrial equipment, advanced stamping technologies and in-house manufacturing capabilities.

The Manufacturing Environment

This is not a position focused on maintaining just one type of equipment. You'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of machinery and manufacturing processes, including:

  • Industrial stamping presses ranging from 105 to 1,000 tons, including high-speed and large transfer presses.
  • Progressive and transfer-die stamping operations.
  • Automated press systems, feeders, conveyors and material-handling equipment.
  • Electrical control systems, motors, drives, sensors and PLC-controlled machinery.
  • In-house tool-and-die operations, machining, grinding and welding equipment.
  • Secondary manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Additional manufacturing technologies, including injection moulding.

You'll work closely with production, maintenance and tooling teams to keep equipment running efficiently, minimize downtime and support ongoing improvements.

What's in It for You

  • $38–$42 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Permanent, full-time employment with an established manufacturer.
  • Extended health, dental and life insurance benefits.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of industrial equipment and manufacturing technologies.
  • A hands-on role with meaningful responsibility and opportunities to develop your technical skills.
  • The satisfaction of solving real problems and making a direct contribution to production.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical faults on stamping presses and other production machinery.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose issues involving motors, drives, sensors, relays, contactors and industrial electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment using electrical schematics and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain and repair automated production equipment, conveyors and material-handling systems.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance and tooling teams to resolve equipment issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Ontario 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician licence.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong hands-on electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Experience with motors, motor controls, sensors, drives and industrial electrical systems.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs and communicate effectively with production teams.

Experience That Would Be an Asset

  • Automotive metal stamping, progressive-die presses or metal fabrication.
  • Electrical maintenance of mechanical or servo-driven stamping presses.
  • Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC troubleshooting.
  • Experience with press feeders, straighteners, conveyors and industrial automation.

Interested?

If you're a licensed electrician who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, variety in your work and the satisfaction of keeping production running, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
