We’re seeking an experienced Learning & Development professional to design and develop strategic learning solutions for a large, complex organization. This contract role is ideal for someone who understands how adults learn and has hands-on experience designing, implementing, and evaluating effective learning programs.
Working with business leaders, HR partners, subject matter experts, and Learning & Development teams, you’ll connect business needs with practical learning strategies that build capability and support a positive learner experience.
What you’ll do
- Consult with business and HR stakeholders to identify performance and capability needs.
- Design and guide the delivery of learning solutions, programs, and multi-year learning roadmaps aligned with business priorities.
- Recommend effective learning approaches and modalities, including blended learning, and define plans for rollout and evaluation.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, subject matter experts, internal learning teams, and external vendors.
- Coordinate vendor relationships, deliverables, and learning project requirements.
- Identify existing learning resources and opportunities to improve or reuse learning assets.
- Monitor progress, communicate updates, and report on learning development and strategy execution.
- Gather feedback and use it to improve learning experiences, processes, and outcomes.
- Support onboarding, compliance learning, and other business-as-usual or transformation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs in learning development and delivery.
What you bring
- Approximately 8–10 years of experience in corporate Learning & Development or a related field.
- Post-secondary education and relevant Learning & Development, adult education, or instructional design certifications.
- Demonstrated experience designing and supporting the delivery of learning programs in a large organization.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and blended learning design.
- Experience with learning consultation, needs analysis, program evaluation, and learning solutions.
- Experience with onboarding, compliance learning, project-based work, and vendor relationships.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to build productive relationships across teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams and Word, and intermediate Excel skills such as PivotTables, charts, and formulas.
- Familiarity with AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot.
Banking or financial services experience is an asset. This is a learning strategy and program-design role; candidates should bring hands-on L&D experience, not solely project management experience.
