Senior Translator-Revisor | Traducteur-réviseur principal

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Translator-Revisor to join a collaborative Translation Services team in Montreal. This is an excellent opportunity for a bilingual language professional with strong English-to-French translation and revision experience, particularly in corporate communications, insurance, technology, or banking.

Position Details

Location: Hybrid - 2 days onsite-Montreal, QC
Contract: October 19, 2026 to October 15, 2027
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Reporting to the Associate Manager of Translation Services, you will translate and revise English-to-French content across multiple areas of the organization, with a focus on corporate communications, insurance, and technology.

The position involves approximately:

60% revision
40% translation

You will work with internal partners, external suppliers, and other members of the Translation Services team to deliver accurate, consistent, high-quality content while meeting service-level and productivity objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Manage long-term translation projects from beginning to end
Translate and revise content from English into French
Act as a language expert and trusted resource for colleagues, internal partners, and external suppliers
Coach, train, and provide guidance to junior translators
Conduct terminological research and contribute to terminology databases
Ensure translated content follows corporate brand, tone, and style guidelines
Collaborate with internal partners and vendors to deliver turnkey translations
Meet or exceed service-level agreements and productivity targets
Manage competing priorities, urgent requests, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Provide coverage for the Associate Manager, as required
Perform machine-translation post-editing when needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in English-to-French translation, or equivalent education
8–10 years of translation experience
Approximately 5 years of revision experience in a structured work environment
Professional experience in banking, insurance, corporate communications, or technology
Fluency in both English and French, including a strong understanding of language nuances
Experience with translation tools, including FlowFit and memoQ
Experience with machine-translation post-editing
Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to coach colleagues and serve as a subject-matter resource
Membership in OTTIAQ is an asset
Knowledge of Copilot and Globalese is an asset

Sous la supervision de la directrice associée des Services de traduction, vous traduirez et réviserez des textes traduits à l’interne ou à l’externe (de l’anglais au français) dans tous les secteurs de l’entreprise, particulièrement les domaines des communications d’entreprise, de l’assurance et de la technologie, en utilisant les outils de traduction (memoQ) adéquatement pour vous assurer de la qualité et de la cohérence dans les documents traduits et atteindre les objectifs de productivité pour votre niveau.

Principales responsabilités

Gérer des projets de traduction de longue haleine de bout en bout, en collaboration avec le coordonnateur, les partenaires internes et les fournisseurs externes
Agir comme conseiller linguistique expert auprès des collègues, des partenaires internes et des fournisseurs
Encadrer, former et guider les membres moins expérimentés de l’équipe en ce qui a trait aux questions et enjeux liés à la traduction et au service à la clientèle
Remplacer la directrice associée au besoin
Faire preuve d’une excellente capacité d’analyse des dossiers et d’esprit de décision
Veiller à ce que le ton et le style des documents traduits soient conformes aux lignes directrices concernant l’image de marque
Effectuer les recherches terminologiques nécessaires pour produire des traductions de grande qualité, et alimenter la base de terminologie par la création de fiches
Collaborer avec les partenaires internes et les autres membres des Services de traduction pour produire des traductions de qualité clés en main

Formation

Baccalauréat spécialisé en traduction de l’anglais vers le français ou formation équivalente

Expérience et productivité

Environ 8-10 ans d’expérience en traduction et 5 ans d’expérience en révision dans un milieu de travail structuré, spécialisation dans le domaine bancaire
Expérience en post-édition de traduction machine
