Original job description
Our banking client is looking for an Architect to support the design and development of a new enterprise Capital Management platform within its Treasury Technology organization.
This is a senior, architecture-focused position responsible for defining the logical data models that will underpin the bank's capital management and measurement capabilities.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in enterprise financial data modeling, particularly within capital management, financial instruments, and balance sheet-related data structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of enterprise logical data models supporting capital management and measurement.
- Translate complex capital management business requirements into scalable, structured data models.
- Design financial data structures that account for capital-related information, financial instruments, and balance sheet relationships.
- Establish modeling standards, architecture principles, and reusable design patterns.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers, and developers to ensure models support business and regulatory needs.
- Produce logical data models, architecture diagrams, entity relationships, and supporting technical documentation.
- Guide and mentor a small team of data modelers responsible for detailed model development.
- Work with engineering teams implementing the models within a Databricks-based data environment.
- Ensure the architecture is adaptable to future enterprise capital management requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally including senior or lead-level data modeling responsibilities.
- Advanced expertise in enterprise logical data modeling and complex data architecture.
- Strong understanding of capital management, capital measurement, or closely related financial data domains.
- Experience modeling complex financial instruments, financial data relationships, or financial enterprise applications.
- Proven track record designing data models for large-scale, complex enterprise systems.
- Ability to translate financial business concepts into logical models independent of specific implementation tools.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience designing data models for capital management applications.
- Background in banking, financial services, treasury technology, financial software vendors, or financial technology consulting.
- Experience with financial industry data modeling standards or frameworks.
- Exposure to Databricks or modern cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience mentoring data modelers and guiding architecture decisions.
Additional Information
Candidates do not need to have worked directly for a bank. Experience with financial software vendors such as Oracle, Bloomberg, or similar enterprise financial technology providers may be equally relevant.
Azure and hands-on Databricks implementation experience are not mandatory. The emphasis is on exceptional logical data modeling expertise and financial domain understanding.
