We are looking for a technically strong Business Systems Analyst to support Hedge Accounting initiatives for a leading banking client. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial instruments, derivatives, pricing, and financial calculations, along with hands-on experience using Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, SQL, and standard BSA tools. Direct Hedge Accounting experience is preferred but not mandatory for candidates with strong financial product knowledge and the ability to learn quickly.

Job Title: Business Systems Analyst – Hedge Accounting

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid, 4 days per week in office)

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for financial systems.
• Work with financial instruments such as interest rate swaps, swaptions, FX forwards, bonds, Treasury bills, mortgages, and loans.
• Analyze financial calculations, including pricing, pricers, Greeks, and accruals.
• Use Microsoft Copilot and GitHub Copilot to support analysis, documentation, and day-to-day productivity.
• Perform data analysis and validation using SQL.
• Create and maintain requirements, functional specifications, and process documentation using Jira and Confluence.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and testing teams to deliver solutions.
• Support testing, defect investigation, and validation activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst within banking, financial services, capital markets, treasury, or financial systems.
• Good knowledge of financial instruments, derivatives, fixed-income products, and related pricing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with both Microsoft Copilot and GitHub Copilot.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation.
• Practical experience with Jira, Confluence, and business requirements documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and business processes quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hedge Accounting experience or knowledge of related processes and financial reporting.
• Ability to read and understand application code.
• Experience with functional testing, system integration testing (SIT), UAT, and defect resolution.
