The Opportunity

Kendrew Distribution Services Ltd. is seeking an experienced, results-driven Business Development Executive to generate and close new third-party logistics (3PL) business.

We are looking for a proven sales professional who identifies opportunities, opens doors, builds relationships with decision-makers, and converts prospects into profitable, long-term customers.

This is a new-business-focused sales role suited to a motivated individual who enjoys prospecting, building their own sales pipeline, negotiating agreements, and delivering measurable results.

You will take ownership of the entire sales cycle, from initial outreach and lead generation through negotiations, contract execution, and customer onboarding.

Our logistics services include warehousing, transportation, cross-docking, B2B and e-commerce fulfillment, returns management, and value-added logistics services.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities with manufacturers, importers, distributors, retailers, and e-commerce businesses.
Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline through cold calling, targeted email outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events.
Establish relationships with business owners, supply chain managers, operations leaders, and procurement decision-makers.
Understand prospective customers' warehousing, fulfillment, storage, distribution, and transportation requirements.
Collaborate with operations and finance teams to develop competitive pricing, customized logistics solutions, and compelling proposals.
Lead client presentations, facility tours, negotiations, and contract discussions.
Secure new customers and close profitable logistics agreements.
Achieve agreed-upon targets for new customer acquisition, revenue, and gross profit.
Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and follow-up activities.
Coordinate customer handovers to ensure service commitments, pricing, and operational requirements are clearly communicated.
Identify opportunities to cross-sell Kendrew's logistics services to newly acquired customers.
Attend client meetings, networking events, and industry functions to develop new business relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideally 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably within third-party logistics (3PL), warehousing, distribution, transportation, or related logistics services.
Proven track record of generating new business, acquiring customers, and closing profitable sales agreements.
Strong prospecting skills with the ability to independently identify and develop new business opportunities.
Experience managing complex sales cycles, preparing proposals, and negotiating commercial agreements.
Solid understanding of warehousing operations, inventory management, fulfillment, transportation pricing, and logistics solutions.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Commercial awareness of revenue, gross profit, and the importance of maintaining profitable customer accounts.
Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales prospecting tools.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel regularly for customer meetings, business development activities, and industry events.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary: $85,000 CAD annually.
Performance-Based Commission: 10% standard commission on gross profit, with an accelerated rate of 15% for exceeding annual gross profit targets.
Vehicle Allowance
Group Health and Dental Benefits
RRSP Matching Program
Two Weeks of Annual Vacation
Sick Days
Hybrid Work Arrangement: Combination of in-office work and travel for customer meetings and business development activities.

Additional details regarding commission structure and performance targets will be discussed during the interview process.
